*Annabeth's POV*
"Annabeth, get up."
I can feel Talia shaking me lightly, but it takes me a minute to peel my eyes open. I roll over and sit up, rubbing my eyes with the back of my hands. I look up at Talia sleepily, giving her a small smile.
"Morning." I mumble, my voice thick with drowsiness.
"Morning." She takes a seat beside me on my bed. "I set you up an appointment with the orthopedic doctor downtown for two o'clock this afternoon. We'll have to leave right after your last class, so I'll have to miss my last class. Fine by me! Is that okay with you?"
I nod my head quickly. "Yes, that's perfect! Thank you. Did coach say it was okay?"
She cringes slightly, her eyes looking around the room at anything but me. "Well.. She didn't exactly say yes, but I don't care. You're my best friend, and I'm going to support you through everything, especially this, so missing one practice isn't going to kill me."
I roll my eyes and pull her into a hug. "You're the best. Thank you so much, it means more to me than you know."
Talia holds onto me tightly, not letting go for awhile. When she pulls away, she grabs my upper arms and I can see the tears in her eyes.
"You're going to get through this, you hear me? I'm sure it's fine, nothing serious is going to be wrong. They're going to see the problem and fix it back to the way it should be. I'm almost sure of it." She nods assuringly, trying to get her words through to me. I only smile, containing any thoughts of negativity that I wanna say. She'll only argue further if I say anything that isn't positive, so I just agree with her as an easy way out.
"Okay."

"My god, how long does it take to get into a doctor's office? We've been sitting here for nearly two hours!"
"Just calm down, they're busy today. You did schedule it last minute.."
"I don't care if I scheduled it last minute or if I scheduled it last week, the appointment was set for two o'clock, I expect to be in his office at two o'clock!" Talia rants, obviously pissed off.
I shake my head and huff in annoyance. We've been here since 1:30 and it's already 3:15. I've had serious anxiety all day, barely able to concentrate in any of my classes. Mr. Parker pulled me to the side earlier in the day wondering what was up, but I only shrugged him off, telling him it was nothing. He let me go unconvinced, but he's not one to push you unless he's sure it's serious. Today, I couldn't have been more thankful for that.
"Annabeth?"
I look up to see a short, young woman with blonde hair pulled into a high ponytail gesturing me over. She gives me a small smile as I stand from my seat and walk towards her. She holds the door open for Talia and me until we walk through.
We follow her down a corridor to the right and another to the left. She lifts a flag beside a large door with the number three on it and opens it to let us in. Once we're inside I take a seat on the patient bed, Talia sits on the chair beside it, and the nurse takes a seat on the rolling chair while typing things into a computer.
"My name is Lori, and I apologize for the wait. Dr. Linton has been very busy lately. What's your full name?" She asks, not looking away from the computer screen.
"Annabeth Elizabeth Chase." I reply.
"Age and birthdate?"
"Age twenty, and my birthday is January 13, 1993."
