Chapter 36

We got back to the table and Harper and Tate where sitting chatting away.
"Hey Bo, Harper is a bulldogs fan" Tate said super excited
"Awesome" he replied
"Right boys finish up I need to get y'all home then I need to get Harper back to the city" I said
"Can't we come with you daddy I not been to the city in ages"Tate whined
I looked at Harper and she nodded
"Ok but you have to behave ok" I said
"Yeaaaaaahhhh"
We headed along the highway back towards Nashville. The boys where talking the hind legs off a donkey and Harper and I laughed at there enthusiasm.
The phone rang inside the car I answered in hands free. It was mama,
"Hey mama, your on hands free and the boys and Harper are here" I said before she said anything untoward
"Hey guys" she said
"What's up mama"I asked
"Nothing baby, just wondered where y'all were."
"We went for ice cream and the boys wanted to come with me to drop Harper off in the city" I said
"Ok will I see you for supper"
"Yeah I'll pick up takeout on the way home. Chic fil-a be ok" I said.
This cause boys to cheer
"Yeah that's fine. Oh and and hey Harper" she laughed
"Hi Mrs Bryan" she replied
"Call me Leclaire or Mama everyone else does" she laughed
"Right mama I will need to go need to get parked" I said hanging up after she said goodbye.
I found a parking on the street which is highly unusual at this time of the day.
"Boys stay here till I walk Harper to that building there" I said
I got out and helped Harper out. I locked the car and just as we where about to walk away I saw Caroline again. Fuck. She was making her way straight to us.
"Well if it ain't the home wrecker and her monkey" she slurred
"Caroline shhhh. The boys are in-the car, they don't need this" I said
"Oh playing happy fucking families with my boys now are we" She said pushing Harper
"Listen Caroline. You don't want to start this." Harper said
"Or what."
"Your drunk think about those boys" Harper said
"Yes Caroline think about them" I said
She made her way to the car window and trie dot get the boys to open the door, which they didn't
"Caroline leave them be your scaring them" I said
With that she turned and slapped me straight a cross the face
"You bastard. You have turned those boys against me" she shouted
With that Harper lunges at her and pushes her into the sidewalk
"Why don't you fuck off and sober up. Have some damn descent for the father of your children and yourself"
I was shocked I have never seen her like that. She walked over to me and kissed me.
"Call me later baby when you get that sorted" she said pointing at Caroline Who was slowly getting back up on her feet
"You tramp" she called as Harper went to the opposite passenger door of the truck
"It was lovely to meet you boys, hopefully we will
Meet again real soon and we can do something fun.
She looked at Caroline and smirked and walked away with the sexier swagger.
