Chapter 39

Harper's PoV

I had seen loads of pictures and videos of Luke's mama but I was so nervous right now.
"Don't worry sweetheart I don't bite" she said making me smile
"I'm sorry I'm just so nervous. I don't want you to hate me for the whole Luke and Caroline thing" I said
"Honey, I don't blame you for anything. So I don't want you to feel that way ok. When Luke called me and said what had happened I gave him such an ear bashing but he actually opened my eyes to what Caroline was actually about" she said
"I'm glad. I always thought they had the perfect marriage but when we where in Mexico we clicked and I thought if he was so In love with her how could he stray and then he told me how unhappy he was and all the things she had done" I said
Luke's mama handed me a glass of wine
"Thank you" I said
"Being honest when Luke first told me about you I thought you where going to be a flash in the pan you know with you being much younger than him but I see the way he looks at you and that boy is head over heals for you. But if you hurt him or those boys then you will have me to answer to." She said serious
"I won't hurt them I promise." I said
"Well let's get this dinner finished and we can all eat." She said smiling.
It's been a long while since I helped cooked with someone. It reminded me of when I used to go to my Meemaws farm when I was younger.
"Why don't you go and get Luke's and the boys and we will eat" she said
"No problem Mrs Bryan em sorry mama" I smiled.
Walking from the kitchen I passed the sofa and smiled at the sweet love me and Luke made. He came round the corner just as I was reminiscing
"I do the same thing" he smiled as he walked up to me wrapping his arms around my waist
"I do believe you owe me a welcome kiss" I said
He tilted my chin up and slowly brushed his lips against mine, holding them there until I gave him full access to my mouth. Our tongues started a merry dance until the banging on the door broke us apart.
"Daddy mama is outside" Tate said
"For god sake. Harper take the boys through to the dining room and give mama the heads up. I will be back" I said kissing her
I watched Luke open the door and then close it behind him. Is this what it's going to be like all the time. I got the boys and went to the dining room.
"Where's Luke honey" Mama asked
"Outside with Aunt Caroline" Til said sitting down
I saw mama roll her eyes and take her apron off and making her way to the door
"Harper start eating sweetheart. Can you help the boys get there meat" she said walking out

Luke's PoV

"Caroline what the fuck" I shouted
"Sorry Luke but I just wanted to see you and the boys" she said
"We are just having dinner and Harper is here so I would appreciate it if you would leave." I said
"Playing happy fucking families are we" she snapped.
"Caroline please the boys have seen and heard so much shit they don't need anymore" I said just as Mama came outside
"Hey mama" Caroline said being all sweet
"Caroline, please can you just go as per
Luke's request" she said
"Turning you against me now is he. He gets to cheat on me with a 25 year old and I'm the bad one" she shouted
"Caroline you where the one who cheated first" I said
"So its a competition now is it" she said
"No it's not and it's not acceptable for you to screw your tennis instructor in our house and to get seen by our 16 year old nephew" I snapped. Causing mama just to look at me.
"What" mama said
"Well this so called mother of the year had a house party when I was in LA doing Idol, you had the boys but Til came home early from a friends and he saw them. He had to carry that about with him for months" I said
I could see Caroline's face drop
"Luke..... I ..... I ....." She stuttered
"Save it for someone who cares. I'm going back inside. I would like those papers signed before I leave. I have giving you more than you deserve. Mama can you make sure she leaves because I'm done" I said walking inside to my family
