Chapter 40

I was leaving for your tomorrow. I still hadn't heard anything from Caroline reference the divorce papers but there was always today.
I haven't seen Harper since she came for dinner because we have both been super busy. My phone rang and it was my Lawyer
"Hey" I answered
"Hi Luke, I have some good news for you Caroline has signed the papers and she has awarded you sole custody of the boys and she has stated she will
Only see them if the want to" he said
"Whoa thats brilliant. I'm surprised she did that but I'm happy as well." I said
"She did have one this she wanted me to say to you. She said to tell you that she hopes you and her have a happy life but you have to remember who your first love was and who gave you you first son."
I was silent
"Luke you still there" he asked
"Yes I am. Sorry. Just angry that's all. I would like you to have a restraining order put out on her where she can't come within 10 miles of me, the boys or Harper" I said
"Yes sir. Well I hope you have a good day and Luke don't take what she says personally she's hurting and angry"
"I know but that don't excuse it. Let me know when it's in place. Have a good day. Bye" I said throwing my cell
I grabbed a bottle of Jack and took a long gulp. As the warm amber liquid hit the spot I got up and got my cell. I needed to tell mama and Harper.
I dialled Harper and it rang out to voicemail, I then sent her a text to call when she could.
I sat and just finished what was in the bottle of Jack just as Mama came in.
"Drinking at this time" she said
"Yeah I needed something to calm me down. Caroline signed the papers" I said
"Is That not cause for celebration, why do you look so sad and angry" she asked
"I just had to wind me up one more time. She gave me full custody so I was wondering if you would wanna move up here and you can stay in the guest house" I said
"What about Harper"
"Mama I can't ask her to take care of the boys full time, she has work and her studies. She will be able to help sometimes but not all the time." I said
"Ok I will help you out until Harper moves in" she smiled
"Mama it's early yet we are still dating" I said
"Baby I give it six months and she will be moved in" she laughed
My phone started ringing it was Harper
"Hey baby, I've missed you" I said
"I missed you to. Been thinking  about you all day"
"I have some brilliant news, Caroline signed the papers" I said
"Oh my god that's awesome congratulations baby. So when can we you know be seen in public" she asked
"Baby as soon as it's finalised I want the word to know you are mine"
