The stranger approaching Kaden was quite possibly the most beautiful girl she had ever seen. Her raven hair was long, even tied back with a lilac ribbon it easily reached the middle of her back. Her skin held a faint olive complexion which complimented her eyes, that were a shade of honey or sunlight amber. On her lips sat a playful grin, one side slightly higher than the other as she slowly walked up to Kaden, who became suddenly aware of herself ogling like a blithering idiot.
Kaden gained control of herself just as this lovely stranger came up to her.
"Hi, I'm Veronica." She paused, waiting on Kaden's response. A raven colored eyebrow shot up as time elapsed in silence. "Well, beautiful, are you going to tell me your name, or would you prefer me to give you one?" She waited again, still no response. Kaden was speechless. Stunned into silence by Veronica's inexplicable beauty. "Schatzi, there is no reason to be afraid. I won't hurt you. I promise."
"Kaden." She finally found her words, "My name is Kaden."
"'Kaden'" Veronica tested, "I believe I prefer 'Schatzi', my little treasure, since I found you out here all alone and you are incredibly lovely." She smiled at Kaden, but then confusion crossed her features. "Why are you out here, all alone?"
"I'm staying here." Kaden replied, nodding towards the cute, aquatic cottage. Veronica lit up excitedly,
"Oh Schatzi, it's so cute!" She exclaimed as she rushed to the water's edge. Kaden joined her, smiling.
"Would you like to join me to explore it?" Kaden inquired, taking an opportunity to spend more time with her. Veronica squealed with excitement, but it faded swiftly.
"I can't." She replied sadly.
"Oh," Kaden responded, thinking she simply wasn't as interested as she at first made it seem.
"I really do wish I could...it's just... well..." Veronica trailed off, and in a moment of frustration, she pulled her hands through her hair, removing the ribbon that held it back. As her hair fell forward, sparks flew between her hands, lacing their way up her lightly muscled arms, and forming a web in her long locks. She looked to Kaden in despair as she said, "Lightning. Not exactly the best of friends with water." Kaden was saddened only for a moment before she came to a solution. She walked to the very edge of the pool, her feet almost touching the surface of the water, and clapped her hands together, hard.
The water's surface began to ripple, and small steps made of stone rose to the surface, forming a path to the cottage deck.
"How about now?" Kaden inquired, and Veronica ran up to hug her.
