NINE | Travel.

Days tripped on as lessons continued. Lessons were taught by King with the Norman occasionally sitting in the back of the room watching. For days now we worked on only the borderline mantra.

It was good training, our words became faster and our magic stronger. Long gone were the stones and now, we merely used the mantra against each other. The first to use the mantra would merely push the other back.

It didn't seem to matter to me. I was more focused on trying to find that library. However, all my questions were always shot down by some new excuse.

"Is there a place I can study?" I had asked Norman days ago.

He had shrugged, "studying in your room or the lounge would be good for you."

And that was that. A few days after I had gone up to George after he had handed me the packed breakfast of oatmeal, a shining red apple and a coffee.

"Do you know where the library is?" I had asked him.

"I'm sorry, I must get back to work my dear," he had quickly dismissed hurrying away.

Then came my interaction with Simba that had occurred this morning. She had spotted me in the court yard on my way to lessons. Stopping me to say hello with a bright smile I believed that finally I'd get some sort of answer.

"Simba, I heard there was a library somewhere and I really wanted to check it out, please can you tell me or show me where it is," I all but begged.

Hesitation flashed in her eyes and she shook her head ever so sadly, "I cannot."

It was becoming so painstakingly clear that no one wanted me to learn the truth about myself but that just drove my will and desire to find out. I sighed, it was only a matter of time before I found out but this was taking way too darn long. Not to mention we'd be finally seeing that Thyme gate in just a few weeks.

"Class dismissed."

King had said after a while. My attention snapped back to where Hannah had drew a borderline faster than Owen. He had stumbled back but quickly recovered. At King's command they all moved to leave.

Once everyone was gone I glanced over Norman who perched on the edge of the metal table. His eyes caught mine and he smirked, gesturing for me to walk over. I did, scooping up my bag and slinging it over my shoulder I walked over with caution.

"I want you to try and figure out your ability," he hummed, then looked over at King, "he's going to help us figure it out right now in fact."

I glanced over at King whose silver eyes sharpened and narrowed into slits.

"I'm going to do what?" he growled towards Norman.

I could feel anger radiating off him as he stalked towards Norman. It seemed they were always bickering and honestly it was becoming quite annoying. I sighed louder than I meant to and both sets of eyes turned towards me. A blush danced across my cheeks and I smiled nervously.

"Sorry, carry on good men," I hummed gesturing between them and taking a step back.

"Don't worry that pretty little mind of yours one bit darling. King you can begin," he chuckled turning to King.

King grinded his teeth together then walked over to me to tower right in front of me. My eyes widened as I strained my neck to look up at him and he quickly grabbed my hand facing my palm up. Lightning fast his over hand shot out drawing a line of blood across my palm. I cried out as pain sharply laced through the cut and I jerked my hand back. Sniffling, and holding back tears I looked over at Norman.
