THIRTY FIVE | Final Stand.

We stepped out and into the fae village hidden in the snow. The sky was cloudy with a foreshadowing blizzard and there was a cold chill in the air. Through the fir trees I could see the break of grass. Creed's spring village in a land of snow.

From here, I could see the affect this treaty had on everyone. In front of the entrance, two water fae stood guarding a pair of large, wood gates that hadn't been there last time. Moving forward with Wyren beside me I frowned.

"We were only in the library for half a day right?" I asked.

She glanced at me, "I forgot to tell you. Time runs differently in the library. It's actually been two weeks – happy birthday Maeve."

I practically fell over, "What?!"

That meant I had no time to prepare or anything! Panic clawed up my throat as Wyren placed a hand on my shoulder as if to calm me, "We don't have time to worry. We need to meet up with the others."

If her words were meant to comfort me they failed. However, I knew she was right and we really didn't have time to worry. I needed to find my council and quickly. Glancing at Balfer it seemed he understood because he quickly shifted into the skin of a wolf before taking off.

"Come on," I ordered Wyren.

She nodded, "Right."

We ran after Balfer, following him past the guards and into the village. I had no time to admire the structure of tree houses and mushroom buildings before he lead me through the village and into a large treehouse towards the back of the village.

Peering through the doorway I instantly recognized Thomas and Henryson hunched over a table. As soon as I spotted them I hurried over, throwing my arms around Henryson giggling, "I'm back!"

Instantly they turned, "Welcome back Mae!"

"I heard we sign the treaty today – is everything ready?" I asked detaching from Henryson.

Thomas nodded, "In fact, Nora's witnesses got here yesterday. Since then, they've been helping out with protection spells and such. Oh – here they come now."

I turned to see what witnesses Nora had. What I didn't except was who I saw! Simba, George, Hannah and Amber. Who would have thought that these guys would go against Allister and follow Nora? Sure I could see George following Nora, but Amber and Simba?

"It's good to see you again, I hope you've been eating properly," George said with a smile. His fire familiar Fekner perched on the shoulder of the kind, old, bald man. He dressed in a white suit as oppose to his normal chief attire. And his grey beard was now braided as oppose to not.

Simba also smiled kindly, "I'm glad to see you in good health." The beautiful dark skinned woman also dressed out of her normal attire and into something more fancy. She wore no shoes still, but a long lace and silk white dress. Not to mention her long, white locks were braided back in what looked like a hundred of smaller braids.

Amber snickered, "I don't care about talking to you. I'm only here for Lady Nora." She certainly hadn't changed. Her ginger hair still dancing like a wild fire. She also wore classy white shirt and skirt.

Hannah frowned, "Amber be nice, you asked to come along." Her black locks fanned out against her pale skin and she had painted black wings over her almond eyes. She dressed in a sleeveless white shirt, and a pair of white suit pants. At her leg was her water fox familiar Sakura.

"Oh shut up Hannah!" Amber snapped, "I only came because you're basically useless."

"I thought you came because you wished to pay back that debt you owed to dark priestess Bishop for saving you months ago," Hannah replied.
