"Zayn are you coming?" Harry asks as he grabs his car keys and follows the others out of the hospital room.
"I'll meet you guys there in a second." I answer him, then turning back to Kacey.
"Alright mate, take your time." he says closing the door behind him.
It's been two days since I last saw her awake. She has been in a coma since then. She had tubes almost everywhere they could fit them. One in her mouth to help her eat, one running up the side of her leg so that the oxygen could reach her heart. The machine was basically the only thing that kept her heart beating next to mine. Without it, she'd be 6 feet deep in dirt.
Harley had managed to have grown so quickly in the womb, in under 3 months, according to the doctor. Except she was born with a missing kidney. The doctors couldn't find out what was wrong with her sooner, it was too late.
So I wrote it down in this spare time I had:
Harley Malik, January 7th 7.31pm - January 8th 1.37pm. R.I.P my baby girl.
She would be the first and the last.
I had grown custom to, in the last two days, writing down everything that meant everything. Such as Harley's d.o.b, and the day she passed away, the day Kacey was born, and the day she slipped into a coma, in a small book that Liam had gotten me awhile back, when I had first met Kacey.
Every time I had a chance to be alone with her, I sang to her. Her favorite songs, which I over heard in my sleep on the flight from the US to the UK.
I kiss her hand, and check the heart rate monitor once more before I leave. Call me crazy, but I saw it beat faster when ever I held her hand. The doctor told me I was just seeing things because she couldn't hear, see, smell, taste or feel anything at this point. She was basically a vegetable. A term meaning that she had no thoughts, she was physically alive, but not mentally. Like a vegetable, hence the comparison.
I meet the boys in the car as I fasten my seatbelt and we head off to the recording studio.
I quickly go on twitter, noticing that i've been in a bath for 10 days and the fans were probably starting to get worried.
'And sorry I haven't tweeted in soo long my phones been playing up :( x'
I tweet it and as usual, thousands favorite and retweet. I couldn't tell them the truth. I couldn't be like 'just left the hospital. Babies dead. Lover is gone. :( x'
I look at my mentions and see Kacey has tweeted about me. It was a picture me of sleeping on the plane ride, and on the helicopter. The first one, on the airplane, said 'with sleeping beauty Xx' and the other one, on the helicopter, was her pouting because she was lonely. But surely Harry had taken the picture, so she wasn't alone. Yet I still wasn't with her. I was barely ever with her. I was either sleeping or something. I mean it's hard. She has her career and I have mine.
"Your phone is doing just fine! You don't have to lie to the fans!" Liam says, who has obviously read my tweet.
"I can't tell them the truth." I tell him
"Payne doesn't lie."
"You don't have to lie, just tweet that were on our way to the studio to continue recording the new album."
"I know what to tweet!"
"Alright! No need for the attitude."
"Sorry, you do know your not the only one effected by what's going on?"
