The anger had began to subside as Four slowly approached me, looking slightly overwhelmed with Ebonie crying in his arms. He looked up from the screaming infant, and his eyes wearily searched my face.
A slow sinking sensation had begun to fill my stomach, and a lump was forming in my throat.
"Are you okay?" He questioned.
"What do you think?" I muttered and ran a hand through my hair. I couldn't believe that Eric had been such an asshole.
"Do you, uh, wanna talk about it?" Four looked as if he'd surprised himself with his words, then looked down at Ebonie again. "I think you should take.."
I sighed and gently took the baby from his arms, rocking her in an attempt to cease her cries. "Talking is..." I took a deep breath. "Talking is a bad idea. You and I both know that it'd be awkward."
A small smile tugged at the edge of his lips. "Very much so. I may be no help at all, but I'm here if you need me."
"Thank you, Four." I sighed again, and glanced down at Ebonie as she began to quieten down. "You're a terrible baby sitter."
He chuckled quietly. "I'll admit that I've got a lot to learn about children."
I smiled half-heartedly.
"Are you going to go back to yours?"
I shrugged. "I don't have a clue. He'll probably go there, and I'm definitely not in the mood to talk to him."
Four looked as if he was hesitating for a moment, then finally spoke. "I've got the initiates again after lunch... My place will be free?"
"You don't have to let me go to yours..."
"No. It's fine. You can go there. I'm sure you need some alone time and I doubt you'll get that anywhere else."
"Okay." I nodded.
Four gestured for me to start walking. "Is there anything you want to grab from yours?"
"Nothing I can think of."
He nodded his head once. "Straight to mine after lunch then?"
"Yeah." I smiled half-heartedly again as I walked alongside him. "Thank you."
"It's not a problem."

The pair of us sat together in the dining hall, on the end of the initiates table. I strapped Ebonie's carrier onto me again, then grabbed myself something to eat and picked at it as Four and I listened to the initiates conversing. Their favourite topic of conversation at the current moment was my dick of a boyfriend and how he had hung the girl over the chasm.
Four looked unimpressed as he listened, his brows furrowed, lips pressed firmly together except from when he was eating. I could tell he was pissed with Eric too, though he'd never say anything to him. He wouldn't break the 'peace' between them.
I, on the other hand, was still feeling every emotion under the sun. I was angry, and I wanted to punch him, knock some sense into the bloody idiot. But at the same time I was upset, he'd hurt me by being so rude, and his behaviour was absurd. What was he really thinking? He was crazy!
Tears began to sting in my eyes as I thought back to out argument. It was like he couldn't have given a shit about me, about what was being said between us because it was in front of people. Why should I have waited to shout at him behind closed doors? It would've allowed people to think that he got away with acting like an ass, that I was fine with his stupid actions. I wasn't. And it was clear that other people weren't too.
