Merida's POV
Ok, where on earth was I? I was in the great hall, waiting for Hiccup; next thing I know the guards are down and some creepy guy is standing behind me. I should never have let my guard down! It's just that... when he mentioned changing his fate... I could relate to that. Then it turned out it was all a lie and that he wanted to kidnap me. I hope Hiccup had the sense to run away. But of course he wouldn't. He's brave and headstrong like me.
When I woke up from these terrible nightmares, I was in a single room. There were no doors and no windows. Just a strange light that came from nowhere. Was I dead?
"Let me out!" I yelled. No response. Great. I didn't have my bow with me either. I sat down and leaned against the wall. Whenever something did happen, I would be ready for it.
It was a while later when the voice spoke. It was the man who had kidnapped me's voice. He came from everywhere around me, and his voice echoed strangely.
"Greeting honored guests! Welcome to the Chamber of Dreams! I am your humble host Pitch Black. Pleased to meet you. Some of you may know each other, some may not. I have the pleasure of knowing all of you, more or less." He said. So there were more of us. Me and who knows how many people. At least three. I stood up and looked around the room, trying to gather clues.
"Before the show gets underway, we have a couple of introductions to get out of the way. From somewhere Scottish, we have Princess Merida. She is, I hate to admit it, very good with a bow. She managed to hit me surprisingly. Jack, you know the magnitude of the accomplishment. She's the one with the terrible red hair."
"It is not terrible!" I shouted.
"Is too. With her we have Hiccup from Berk. He has a pet dragon. May or may not be in love with Merida." He continued. Silence. I knew Hiccup would probably try to save me. Idiot.
"I am not making assumptions Hiccup. Don't try to deny it." So he could hear all of us, but none of us could hear each other.
"Then we have a girl with extremely long hair. Not sure what her name is. She has a frying pan." Silence again.
"Rapunzel it is then. And then a special request from a friend of mine, we have Queen Elsa. But being queen will do nothing here my darling. And your ice powers won't do much good either." Silence.
"I couldn't find Anna." Silence again.
"If you don't stop it with the insults, I will get Anna. I'm sure Hans wouldn't mind seeing her again." Silence.
"That's better. And last but not least, my personal favorite, Jack Frost. He's a guardian. Oh, and FYI Elsa, he has ice powers and is single." Pitch continued.
"Both of you be quiet! You can't hear each other, you do know that right? Oh, I almost forgot. We have Prince Hans with me. He's my pal here, we both hate people with ice powers. But anyway, get a good nights rest. The dreams begin at sunrise." Pitch laughed.
"And I will be watching you Elsa! Remember that as you hurt!" A voice called. Was that Hans? He must have a huge grudge against this Elsa. I wonder what happened. But I knew one thing for sure. I was not going to go to sleep.
Jack's POV
I hate Pitch! How had I gotten myself into this? When he sent me a note saying he had captured a girl with ice powers like mine and she was dying to meet me, I don't know what happened. I can't believe I believed him! Who was I kidding? What girl would happen to have ice powers, be roughly my age, no boyfriend, and want to meet me? Why did I listen for a second?
But she was there with him. He had the proof. A girl with white hair, a beautiful blue dress, and blue eyes. In that instant when I was distracted he nabbed me. And now here I was, in a stupid room with no doors or windows. He must get around using the snow globes that he stole from North.
I didn't know any of the people that he mentioned, but I assumed that the girl's name was Elsa. The others were just poor people that Pitch had dragged into this.
So this was the Chamber of Dreams huh? It was obvious to me why he called it that. When we went to sleep, he would send us nightmares. So who was going to sleep?
"Jack, this is a personal conversation. None of the others can hear us. So what do you think of my creation?" Pitch asked through the walls.
"The Chamber of Dreams? That's the best you could come up with?" I asked.
"It will make sense later on. I have a guest for you. I want you two to get to know each other. She'll be here in a moment. Kindly don't blast her with ice." He said. I stood and raised my fists. He had taken my staff. A portal opened up and Elsa stumbled through. She fell to the ground, then quickly stood up and glared at me.
"What?" I asked defensively.
"Oh, nothing. Just the fact that I've been kidnapped and insulted and Hans is getting revenge and this Pitch dude thinks it's funny to stick me in a room with a fake boy that he thinks I'll have a crush on." The girl ranted. I noticed her hands were inside black gloves.
"You're complaining? I'm certainly not a fake, but I don't know about you. Pitch probably wants to make me suffer by creating something that will never be." I told her. She squinted at me.
"So you say you're not a fake, and I say I'm not a fake. How are we supposed to prove that we're not fakes?"
"I have no idea. I would say show our powers to each other, but Pitch took my staff."
"And I can't because he put these horrid black sandy gloves on my hands. I'm through with stupid gloves!"
"I guess we just have to trust each other for now. But as soon as you prove to be a fake, I will kill you." I told her in all honesty. I would not play Pitch's game.
"Pretty harsh. But the same goes for you." She said. We sat down on opposite ends of the room.
"So... you're Jack Frost?" She asked.
"Yep. People can't usually see me unless they believe in me. And you're Elsa?" I asked her.
"In person. Why wouldn't people believe in you? You seem real enough to me."
"I don't know why you believe in me. I've never seen a person believe right away like that."
"Well, he told me you were here. A boy with ice powers." Was it just me, or did she blush a little?
"Well, do you know Pitch from before? You seem like you know him." She asked quickly.
"Yep. He's sort of like my arch enemy. He uses his black sand to knock people out and give then nightmares. A word of advice, don't fall asleep."
"Got it. Other than that, any adv-" She was interrupted by Pitch's voice again.
"Well, none of you are going to sleep. Don't you trust me?" Pitch asked. Me and Elsa both yelled 'No' as loud as we could. I assumed everyone else was too.
"Ok ok! I get it! So why not do something fun instead? But before we start, a few rules."
"If a portal appears in your room, you must go through. If you wait, I'll open a portal under your feet to a pool of my black sand. Understood? Also, feel free to try to kill each other. Especially Jack Frost. Kill him. He's the one with white hair and a hoodie. I will be giving you your stuff back. That means Jack gets his staff, Elsa gets to remove the gloves, Rapunzel gets her... frying pan, Merida... I guess you get your bow, and sorry Hiccup, but no dragon for you. You can have your sword instead. And lastly, let's see some action! When you are in a dream chamber, some of you may be real, some may not. Or all of you can be real! Just have fun playing with my toys. May the games begin!" Pitch cheered. A portal opened up in the room. I looked at Elsa, then we both nodded once and stepped through the portal into the unknown.
