Hans's POV

I looked for the hundredth time at Elsa through the screen. Then I scowled. She was still smiling to herself. Remembering the kiss I suspect. But it didn't matter what she was happy about. What mattered was that she was happy, and not dead or suffering. And that bugged me.

I looked over at Pitch. He was busy fussing over his plans for the five. Completely oblivious to the fact that Elsa was most certainly not suffering. My scowl deepened.

"That's the twelfth time that you have glared at me Hans. Whatever is your problem?" Pitch asked without looking up.

"What's my problem? You dare to ask me what's my problem?" I growled.

"Yeah."

"My problem is that Elsa is not suffering or dead. You promised me that if I helped you, I would get my revenge on Elsa."

"And she is! I had her live her worst fear, killing a loved one."

"But it's not good enough! Take your Jack fellow for example! He nearly died! Twice! He got stabbed! Admit it, you are focusing all your efforts on Jack Frost."

"So what if I am? I've waited for this for a long time."

"I rotted in jail for three years! How long did you have to wait in jail? Oh wait, you weren't in jail, were you?"

"Now listen here. Jack is more powerful than Elsa. I'm using Elsa to break him. Just you watch." Pitch said, turning to me.

"I will not watch! I demand immediate satisfaction! I want Elsa dead now!"

"Then do it. Go kill her."

"I'll do just that."

"Wait, I have an idea! I'll have Jack in a cage and force him to watch! Then you can kill him too! It's perfect!"

"I knew you would turn this into something to hurt Jack." I mumbled.

"What's that?"

"Can't it ever be just kill Elsa now, kill Jack later?"

"No."

"Why not? Are you scared Jack will do something to destroy your plan Pitch Black?"

"As I matter of fact, maybe I am! He has done incredible things before! You just watch, he'll do something to save Elsa just in time."

"Yeah right. Chained in a cage? Without his staff? I'd like to see him try."

"Alright then. That will be their next trial. I will chain them all up and you can kill them one by one. Elsa, Merida, Hiccup, Rapunzel, then Jack. Yes... it's perfect. Get ready." Pitch commanded me. I scowled again, then picked up a sword leaning against the wall. Today, I get my revenge on Elsa.

Jack's POV

I was sitting in my cell, moping. I had finally confessed my growing love for Elsa, but then we had been separated again. And now I was worried what Pitch was going to do with this new information.

"Hi everyone! I have news! The latest trial is in! And you'll never guess what it is! But I won't tell you. That would spoil the surprise. Have fun!" Pitch cheered, and before I knew it I was in a large domed chamber. It was black brick, and the floor was a raised platform surrounded by spikes. I was also chained to the wall. All around the room was everyone else. They were all chained too. Except for Elsa. She was standing on the platform all by herself.

"What's going on? Jack?" She called.

"I'm over here." I told her. She turned towards me and smiled weakly. Pitch laughed.

"Yes, smile while you still can! Because unfortunately, I have an unsatisfied friend. He wants to have Elsa dead. And me being the kind, generous person I am, am letting him do it." Pitch explained. Oh no. I had just gotten Elsa! He couldn't take her from me now!

"And here he is now!" Pitch continued. Suddenly, a person was standing on the platform with Elsa. He was dressed like a prince, and had red hair and sideburns. He also had a very sharp looking sword.

"Hello Elsa. Remember me?" He asked. Elsa looked terrified.

"Hans." She breathed.

"Yes. How's Anna doing?" Hans asked. Elsa looked like a deer caught in headlights.

"I'm so sad she isn't here with us. I wanted her, but we couldn't find her. So I settled for you." Hans continued. He began advancing towards Elsa, and she backed up.

"It really was rather terrible that you escaped prison. It gave me a very bad image." Elsa was cornered now, stuck between him and the spikes. He stood right in front of her, grinning wickedly.

"Do you think I'm going to push you into the spikes?" He asked. Elsa didn't move. I had to do something! I started struggling against the chains.

"Because I'm not. That's too good for you, being the monster you are." Hans said, grabbing Elsa's wrist. He threw her behind him and onto the floor. She struggled to get up.

"And there is no Anna to save you this time." Hans growled. He swung the sword, cutting Elsa's arm. She cried out in pain and fell back to the floor. My eyes turned red with rage, and I felt a wave of anger rush over me. He did not just do that. Hans swung again, cutting Elsa's other arm. Oh now he was going to get it. My vision tunneled, and I only saw Hans. I felt the chains snap, and I jumped to the platform.

Hiccup's POV

I struggled as much as I could, but it was no use. There was nothing I could do to save Elsa. I could see Jack struggling harder than ever, but even he must see that it was pointless. We were all going to watch Elsa die.

Then Hans cut her arm with the sword, and I saw Jack start to glow blue. Another cut on Elsa, and the chains snapped from the cold. Jack jumped to the platform, pure hate in his eyes. This guy meant business. He walked towards Hans, and everywhere he stepped frost spread. He tapped Hans's shoulder, and Hans spun around.

"What? How-?" Hans began, then Jack punched him in the stomach. Hans stumbled backwards clutching his stomach. Frost was already starting to form there. Jack continued to walk slowly towards him.

"Jack? What are you doing? What's going on?" Elsa asked Jack. But Jack acted as if he didn't even hear her. He just walked up to Hans and kicked the sword out of his grasp, catching it midair. Hans stumbled backwards. Jack advanced. Soon Hans was cornered, stuck between Jack and spikes.

"P-please. D-don't do this Jack. You s-seem like a good boy." Hans stammered. Jack hefted the sword, then sliced Hans's arm. Hans grimaced, grabbing his arm. Then Jack sliced his other arm. Just like Hans had done to Elsa. Then Jack dropped the sword and picked Hans up by his shirt, holding him in the air. There was blue fire in his eyes.

"No one hurts Elsa." Jack said. Then he punched Hans in the jaw, sending him flying into the spikes. I didn't look at his body. The fire faded from Jack's eyes, and he stopped glowing blue. Then he stumbled slightly and ran to Elsa.

"Are you ok?" He asked quietly.

"Yeah. I'm fine. But what just happened?" Elsa asked.

"I'm not sure. All I know is, I wanted to do to him what he had done to you." Jack said to Elsa.

"Well done Jack. I did tell him you would find some way to save Elsa. But he didn't listen. Oh well. Enough excitement for now. Get a good nights sleep for real, because I have big plans for tomorrow. And between you and me, I always thought Hans was an egghead." Pitch said. I looked around the room at my newfound friends. I had only known them for a few days, but I would already risk my life for any of them. If I was going to die, would they do the same for me?
