Merida's POV
Worst way to spend your day. I'm all for a good argument every once in a while, but to kill? First it was my brothers, then my mom, and after that Hiccup! Luckily, I had my bow and it was all over very fast. When I went through the final portal, I was in a huge circular room. I was on a circular platform, and it hung suspended by chains. The ground below the platform was covered with black sand. So if you fall, you get to have nightmares. Woohoo.
"You are the first to get through Merida. Rapunzel will be here in a moment, and so will Hiccup. Elsa will probably get here before Jack, if he ever comes out alive. For the moment, just enjoy yourself." Pitch said. I waited for something to happen. A moment later, another portal opened up and Rapunzel staggered through. Her hair was still in a braid, and she had tears on her cheeks. Poor girl.
"Are we the first?" She asked. I nodded. A second after that, another portal opened and Hiccup ran through. He had several burn marks on him, but other than that looked ok. I ran up and hugged him.
"I'm really sorry!" He told me through tears.
"For what?" I asked.
"One of them was you." He whispered. I needed no further explanation. I had to fight him too. Another portal opened up after a few minutes. Elsa walked through. She looked completely untouched, other than her slightly ruffled hair. She nodded once to each of us.
"Where... where's Jack?" She asked. I shrugged. We waited, but nothin happened. Finally, when I was about to tell at Pitch to hurry up, a portal opened and Jack stumbled through. He looked the worst out of all of us. His blue eyes looked haunted, and he had tear stains on his cheeks. His foot looked slightly blue.
"Finally! Took you long enough Jack. Now that I have you all here, I am going to tell you the rules of the last game. It's sort of like king of the hill. I am going to summon a monster. He will go about trying to knock you off the platform. Try not to fall off, and get others off. When only one is left, the monster will stop. Understood? Good. Let's get this party started!" Pitch cheered. All of us groaned. I for one was not going to push people off the platform. No one deserved that black sand.
"Guys, I have an idea. How about all of us kill the monster instead?" Hiccup suggested.
"What will stop Pitch from making another one?" I asked.
"He won't. I know Pitch. He will probably laugh and make us go back to our rooms. Or most of us." Jack said, grimacing. He clutched his side and leaned forward a little.
"Are you ok Jack?" Elsa asked worriedly. She rushed towards him, but he waved her off.
"I'm fine. Just a scratch. We need to concentrate on the monster. Ideas anyone?" Jack asked. We could all tell he was probably not ok, but we had no choice but to listen to him.
"I have one. Me and Rapunzel will get up close and personal with it. Get it's attention and stuff. Merida, you nail him with your arrows. Elsa, ice at him if you please. And Jack will get him from above." Hiccup explained. Jack shook his head.
"I can't do that. Maybe me and Elsa both can get him from above. We make ice towers and shoot frost from there." Jack said. Hiccup shrugged.
"That works too. Ready guys?" He asked. We all nodded.
"Oh no your not." Pitch laughed. Black sand swirled and formed a giant black dragon as tall as a three story building. It was very similar to Toothless.
"Really Pitch? Two times in one day?" Hiccup yelled.
"Oh, all right." Pitch said. The dragon changed so now it was just a big scary dragon. It reached it's head up and breathed black sand. Great.
"Probably better if we avoid the black sand!" I yelled, running towards the edge of the platform. Hiccup and Rapunzel ran towards the dragon, one taking the front, one the back. Elsa and Jack raised platforms of ice on either side and began raining hail and frost on the dragon. The dragon screeched and tried to bite Hiccup, but he rolled out of the way and Rapunzel stabbed it's snout. Then the dragon tried to go for Rapunzel with similar results. After that, it turned and smashed into Elsa's ice tower, sending it crashing to the ground. Smart dragon.
"No!" Jack shouted. He jumped in the air and flew to the dragon, landing on it's neck. The dragon bucked and spun, trying to get Jack off. But I could see ice beginning to cover it's head. Jack was doing his magic. After a moment, another stream of ice shot towards the dragon from the rubble where Elsa's tower had been. Elsa was ok! I started aiming my arrows at the ice. Wherever they made contact, chunks of ice and sand fell away. Soon, the dragon was nothing more than a frozen statue. It dissolved into sand and Jack fell to the floor, stopping himself at the last second.
"Aw... that was too fast. None of you even got hit by my sand breath." Pitch pouted.
"Take your stupid games somewhere else! We're through with you!" I shouted.
"That is very rude. And I'm not through with you quiet yet my dear." Pitch laughed. I walked back to the others.
"Now what?" I asked.
"I have no idea. He didn't open up a portal yet. Maybe he is making another monster." Rapunzel said.
"No. Pitch... isn't like that. He... would find... our emotional pain... more amusing." Jack gasped. I frowned.
"Jack, you most certainly are not ok. What's wrong?" I asked.
"I promise... I'm fine. Just... tired." Jack said.
"Are not! Let us see that scratch!" I demanded.
"You... can't do anything... about it." He wheezed. This was making me worried.
"I can." Ralunzel said. Jack opened his mouth to speak, then his eyes rolled to the top of his head and he fell to the ground.
"Jack!" We all yelled, gathering around him.
"What happened to him?" Rapunzel asked.
"I have no idea! Did he get hit by the sand or something?" I asked.
"Jack! Stay with us Jack!" Elsa begged. Hiccup began looking Jack over. When he reached Jack's side, the one he had been covering with his hands, Hiccup stopped.
"That is no scratch." He said. I looked over his shoulder. Jack had a huge rip in his shirt. It went nearly from his armpit to the bottom of his ribcage. It was covered in blood as well.
"How did that happen?" Elsa gasped.
"Doesn't matter at the moment. Rapunzel, you said you could help him. How?" I asked. Rapunzel began undoing her braid.
"Help me guys!" She commanded. We started unraveling her hair, and she stopped when she had nearly four feet of it. She began wrapping it around Jack's scratch.
"What are you doing?" Hiccup asked. She didn't reply, and when she was done she began singing. This girl was mad. How was singing and wrapping him in hair supposed to help? Then her hair started glowing. None of us said a word, we were all too surprised. When she was done, she unwrapped the hair. His cut was gone. She sighed and began redoing her hair.
"What just happened?" Elsa asked.
"My hair has special healing abilities. But when I cut it, it loses it's power. That's why my hair is so long." Rapunzel explained. She finished putting her hair back in the braid and turned back to Jack. He was less pale now, and he was breathing evenly. Not to mention his leg and foot were no longer blue.
"Good show everyone! Rapunzel, if I had known you could heal with your hair, I would have done things differently! Oh well. I suppose I can watch Jack die another time. Now, back to your rooms you go!" Pitch exclaimed.
"No, wait!" Elsa shouted, but portals opened beneath us and we all fell into our separate rooms. Or at least, I think we did. I have no idea what happened to Jack. But I suppose I'll find out at the next trial.
