Hans POV

I watched Pitch laugh and hum to himself as he made the preparations for the next trial. It was finally time for Elsa to meet her doom! This was sure to break her. I myself had suggested it to Pitch, remembering that Elsa's worst fear was hurting someone she loved. Ironically, she almost killed Anna twice. Did kill her, if becoming ice killed her. But I guess that doesn't count since she came back to life.

Pitch finished adding the last bits of black sand, the ones that would become the loved ones. He actually had a list of the people he was going to use. He had this really thought out. I peeked at the list while he worked.

Jack Frost-

Tooth

His sister

Elsa

Rapunzel-

Eugene

Pastel (enlarge)

Mother

Hiccup-

Toothless

Merida

Astrid

Merida-

Three brothers

Mother (as a bear? Look in on it)

Hiccup

Elsa-

Anna

Jack

Olaf

Interesting. I didn't know much about these people, but you could tell a lot by who they loved. But I figured that Pitch made Jack and Elsa kill each other just for fun. I wanted to find out who Pastel was, but I was more interested in watching Elsa suffer. I just wish I had some popcorn or something.

Elsa's POV

I hated my new outfit. As soon as I could use my ice powers again, I coated the black jumpsuit with blue ice crystals. Then I looked around the new room. I was in my ice castles top room, the one with a giant chandelier and balcony. The one where I froze Anna's heart. But this place had been destroyed. How was it here?

"Elsa. About time you showed up." A voice exclaimed. I spun around. There was Anna, but she looked different. Maybe it was the fact that her eyes didn't sparkle, or that her grin was evil instead of playful. Then again, it could just be the sword she was holding.

"It's been forever. You never talk to me anymore. You hardly look at me. Is it because I don't have powers like you? Or are you still mad that I tried to marry Hans?" Anna asked angrily. In the back of my mind, I knew she was fake. But she seemed so real...

"Anna, it's nothing like that!" I protested. She rolled her eyes.

"Nothing like that? It's everything like that Elsa! I'm not good enough for you!"

"You are good enough Anna! I love you just the way you are! Calm down!"

"I don't have to do anything you tell me to Queen Elsa!" Anna yelled, then rushed at me swinging the sword. I scrambled backwards and dodged the sword. I wasn't going to attack her! She continued to chase me around the room swinging the sword. I continued to dodge. Finally, I used my powers to raid a large spire of ice under me so that I was out of her reach. Anna attacked the spire with all of her strength.

"Anna! I'm not going to hurt you!" I shouted down. She ignored me. The spire started to tilt towards her.

"Anna! Stop! The spire is going to fall!" I yelled. She didn't stop.

"Like I would believe you!" She called up. The spire was about to fall.

"Get out of the way Anna!" I screamed. Then the spire toppled, crushing her and sending me flying through the air. I shakily stood up and ran to the wreckage. I knelt down and began sorting through it all.

"Anna?" I whispered. All that was there was black sand and ice. Anna was never really here. Tears filled my eyes.

"That was more of an accidental kill, but it counts. Kindly proceed through the portal Elsa." Pitch said. I numbly stood and stumbled to the portal. If this was just the first one, how would I survive the others?

Hiccup's POV

The first fight had been bad enough. I hoped that I would never have to fight toothless again. But luckily, he couldn't fly. But now this? I was in the great hall of the castle where Merida lived, and Merida was there. But this was not good. She had an arrow pointed at my heart and was ready to kill me.

"You don't have to do this you know!" I called to her. She ignored me and let the arrow fly, but I had already ducked out of the way. Even so, it just barely missed me. I scrambled behind one of the stuffed bears and caught my breath. This was not going to be easy. Especially since I had a crush on her. How on earth can you possible even consider killing your crush? I couldn't even kill Toothless the first time I saw him, and that was when I still believed dragons were bad and I really needed the honor killing him would give me and he was even tied up. And now I was supposed to kill a fully functional and armed Merida. Might as well make this quick.

I braced my back against the wall and pushed the bear with my feet. It smashed into Merida and she dropped her bow. Now was my chance, but I couldn't bring myself to run up and stab her. She shoved away the bear and reached for her bow. It was now or never.

"I'm sorry Merida." I whispered, then threw the sword. It buried itself in her back, and she dissolved into black sand. I sat down on the floor and caught my breath. If this was just the first two things, how was I going to survive the rest? Then I picked myself up and walked through the portal. I had a job to do.

Jack's POV

I knelt at the pond where I had died. Black sand was scattered around me, mixed with a little blood. I was shivering slightly. This trial had been taxing. How cruel was Pitch? Definitely more than any of us had imagined. He had pitted me against my sister. She had been ruthless, and I had hesitated in killing her. Then she had made a long scratch in my side with her little knife. After that I killed her with my frost. I hope after today I never have to do that again.

I stood and walked through the next portal with my staff at the ready. I was now back in my cell. Was this some sort of joke? Nothing was there except me... and Elsa. She was suddenly in front of me, and she was grinning evilly.

"Hello Jack." She said. Oh no. Please no. I had only known her for a day, but I already felt an attraction to her. Pitch couldn't have know that already, could he?

"Want to hear a secret Jackie?" Elsa giggled. I nodded slowly. I had learned that it was best to let the fake person say whatever they wanted, no matter how much it hurt.

"I love you Jackie. But guess what? I'm about to kill you!" She laughed. These people had a weird sense of humor. She shot a ice dart at me, and I dodged around it. She spun and did it again, but I jumped over her head. The visions of me falling filled my mind as I flew for a few moments. She laughed.

"I can do this all day Jackie! But you can't!" She said, laughing like it was the funniest joke in the world. But she was right. I had to end this fast. She shot a dart, and I sidestepped and clubbed her head with my staff. She crumpled to the ground. I readied my magic to end her.

"She's a fake, she's a fake." I whispered to myself. But still I couldn't do it. I closed my eyes and pointed my staff at her. Then I lowered it again. This was impossible! She suddenly opened her eyes and brought an ice dart down on my foot, and I reacted reflexively. In a moment, nothing was left but frozen black sand. I sat on the floor and looked at my foot. A thin layer of frost was slowly climbing up my leg. Wherever it touched, I couldn't move. I grimaced and stood again. I couldn't control this ice, it wasn't natural ice. But I could slow it down.

I readied my staff and stepped through the last portal. Who knew what waited for me now?
