I stared at my lifeless sister as the blue faded from her eyes, returning to dark brown. I watched as the blue streaks in her hair faded until her light brown hair was normal. Tears rushed down my face as the blue mist that surrounded her evaporated, leaving her. Sobs racked my chest as her lifeless eyes bored into mine; I fell to my knees on the ground as I began to scream uncontrollably.
Warm arms wrapped around my sobbing body, providing comfort. I leaned against Damien's chest as I sobbed my heart's pain. I screamed into his chest as I stared at Lucy's body. He rubbed circles on my back as tears gushed out of my eyes.
I only had one mission in life, and that was to protect Lucy from the Haze. My mother had told me to keep her safe, but I failed her. I failed Lucy.
And I was the one who killed her.
I screamed into Damien's chest until my throat was raw and my voice was lost. Tears poured from my eyes until my tear ducts were dry. I sat in Damien's lap until I realized what I had to do.
I had to fight back.
I slowly stood up, and Damien followed in suit. I dragged my gaze from Lucy's lifeless ones to Damien's green ones.
"Are you okay?" He asked, worry filled in his eyes.
I stared at him with my intense hazel eyes. "They could have killed me. Thy could have attacked me. They could have tortured me until my last breath. They could have easily taken out my actions on me, but they hurt Lucy. They killed my entire family. They killed innocent people and even infants. Thy have caused so much pain and heartache for humanity. They robbed us of our peace and our sanity. All they have done is take from us. That is over," I spoke, staring him down. "I'm going to fight back. I'm putting an end to this infestation once and for all. Damien, are you with me?"
Damien stared at me with an equally intense gaze. "Til the end."
I picked up Lucy's shotgun off of the floor and cocked it. "Then we're gonna need heavy artillery."

We luckily found a National Guard Armory in the little town. I kicked down the door with my gun raised, making sure a Hazer didn't try to jump out and attack. Once I saw nothing was prepared to attack, Damien and I rushed in to scavenge the armory.
I decided we needed to find clothes first. We found a closer near the back filled with men's and women's Army clothes.
We split up so we could find our gender's clothes. I went over to the clothes hanging from hangers and peered at the different selections. I finally decided on a tight-fitted camouflage tank top and snug camouflage cargo pants with black combat boots. I found a grenade belt and looped it on as well, along with an ammo band that slings across my torso.
Damien was waiting for me outside of the closer with a new set of clothes on. He had chosen a grey shirt with the word 'ARMY' written across the chest with loose jeans and tennis shoes.
I made him change.
He came back with the same shirt, camo cargo pants, and combats boots, along with the grenade and ammo holders as well.
When we were finished with our outfits, we went into the artillery room to hunt guns, explosives, and ammo.
Damien and I each grabbed a machine gun and tons of ammo as I tossed my old one away, just in case. I then filled my grenade belt with many grenades as Damien picked up a flame thrower and looked at me.
"No," I quickly said, knowing it was every guy's dream to shoot a flame thrower.
We grabbed a few fancy-looking pistols for back up, shoving them in our many pockets. We strolled out of the armory locked and loaded, ready to take on the Haze.
Damien held one of his hands behind his back as he spoke to me. "Maia, there's only one thing missing from our hunting gear."
I raised an eyebrow. "What?"
He pulled his hand out to show me what he was hiding. "Bandanas."
I rolled my eyes as he quickly put mine in for me and soon put his on as well.
We packed up our things and headed to Dallas, ready to slay the creatures that have haunted our nightmares for six months.
We weren't going down without a fight.

There going all bad-a on em! Yeah-yuh! They must avenge Lucy.
I know it was short, but this was their preparation and I didn't see the need to go on. Don't hate me.
