I was shaking with rage as I neared the domain of the Haze. Red was all I could see as I held my machine gun up, the ammo shoved in my pants.

I spotted the first Hazers easily. They collapsed to the ground quickly as bullets tore their torsos to pieces. I sprinted into the large building and fired rapidly at each and every Hazer present. No one could touch me because before they knew it, they were dead, with their blood pooling in puddles on the hard floor.

I raced up the stairs two at a time, shooting all the Hazers I saw. I busted through the first door I saw and annihilated all of the Hazers. I tore the tag of a grenade and tossed it at the swarm of Hazers racing towards me. I watched as their bodies quickly exploded, blood and limbs splattering me as I walked through the smoke and piles of lumps that used to be bodies.

I raced down a hall as two Hazers raced towards me. I shredded their bodies quickly and was about to walk on when a black hunk of metal caught my eye. I glanced up and saw a security camera; the red light winked continuously at me as I glared into the lens.

Hoping Brex was watching, I stomped up to it and gave him the cruelest glare I could muster, even though my heart told me to stop. I was a fool for loving him. He's a monster; he's insane. How can anyone love someone like that?

"Brex, I hoped you're watching this. I may love you, but I can't let you do this. You're a monster, and I swear, I will kill you if you hurt my sister, you arrogant conceited asshat!" I growled.

I sprinted on, determined to find that asshole.

I roared as Hazers kept coming at me. Couldn't they take a hint? I was on the verge of slaughtering every single Hazer here, yet they still come at me.

I bet Brex sent them to slow me down.

That thought fueled my hate fire even more. I screamed in anger as I sprinted into the mass of Hazers. Bullets erupted from my death machine as I roared. Hazers fell left and right as I ran.

I found a door and rushed in. Panting, I quickly searched the room with my eyes.

There were ministers everywhere. I saw dead and injured Hazers lying all over the floors on the screens. I scanned them until I saw Brex. He was on the roof with a huge blue spaceship parked on it. He was sprinting towards it as two Hazers dragged a limp body behind them. I sat down at the monitor and pressed the zoom button. When I saw the face of the unconscious human, I nearly threw the monster across the room.

It was Damien. His face was bloody and swollen, as if someone had beaten him until he passed out. Dry blood caked his hair; his eyes were closed, but I could imagine the glistening green they were.

I was gonna kill Brex.

A deadly thought crossed my mind. What if Brex had Lucy? He's already boarding the ship, but I was determine to make it there before they flew off.

As I raced to the door, it flung open. I aimed my gun an was bout to pull the trigger when a voice rang out.

"Maia?"

My stomach dropped. A head peeked around the partially closed door; her brown hair shining in the light. Her wide brown eyes filled with happiness as she laid her eyes on me.

"Maia!" Lucy yelled, throwing her arms around me. I was so shocked, I couldn't hug her back.

Snapping out if my daze, I gently shoved her off. "We gotta go, Lulu."

She smiled at her nickname. "Why?"

I looked at the monitors. The ship hasn't left yet; I still have time. "Brex has Damien; he just loaded him on a spaceship. We gotta go before he gets away."

Lucy nodded. I began to run when a brick wall blocked my way. I looked up into a pair of blue eyes. Blue streaks line his red hair, and a blue mist hugged his body.

I held up my gun. As I fired my gun, Lucy smacked my gun away so I shot the wall instead.

I whipped my head at her. "Are you trying to get us killed?"

She shook her head quickly. "No! But you can't shoot him. He's my soul mate," she informed me. Lucy gazed up at him passionately, and he gazed backed with the same look in his eyes.

I sighed. "Okay. Now come on!"

We raced down the hallway. Lucy's dude said we had to go up two floors to get to the roof. We sprinted up the stairs quickly, reaching the roof in seconds. Lucy's dude had slung her on his back since she didn't have Hazer abilities.

We ran onto the roof, sprinting towards the spacecraft. It was buzzing wildly; I assumed that meant it was about to take off.

I left Lucy and the dude behind as I darted towards the ship. It's door was still open; I could make it. I ran as my heart screamed at me to stop. It couldn't take this much physical activity.

I pushed it as I saw the gaping door to shut. I roared as I launched myself off the ground to grab the door, refusing to let Brex get away.

My fingertips skimmed the closing door; I tried to wrap my hand around something, anything, but all I met was air. I dropped quickly, hitting the cement roof hard. I stared as the ship sped away into the sky.

Black rimmed my edges as voices flooded my ear, but it sounded as if they were underwater. I saw Lucy's face in my blurry vision, but I stared at the retreating ship in the sky, getting smaller and smaller until it disappeared from the black sky.

I stared at the twinkling stars that reminded me of Brex's eyes as I slowly slipped into unconsciousness.
