"NO!" I shrieked at my sister's emotionless eyes.

I had turned her into a Hazer. What have I done?

Tears rushed down my face as I stared at my sister. Her heightened features made her look dangerous. Her intense blue eyes bore into mine, analyzing me.

"Master wants you," she spoke, but her voice wasn't the same. It was hard with no emotion, like her eyes.

Then she lunged at me, knocking me to the ground. I swiftly pushed her off and pounced on top of her, holding her down as she fought against me. She snarled as I trapped her underneath me.

"Lucy! Lucy, look at me! Look at me!" I screamed as I fought to get her to face me.

She growled and snapped her jaws at me as she struggled underneath my body. I forced her to lock gazes with me, but she still fought.

"Lucy," I whispered hoarsely, tears trailing down my face, "Look at me. It's me, Maia. It's Mimi."

It was like she was an animal. She hissed and spat on me, nothing I said getting through to her. She roared at me, causing me to flinch. That flinch was all Lucy needed to flip us over and wrap her hands around my throat. She trapped my arms underneath her legs as she gripped my neck tighter, blocking my airway. I struggled to breathe as she peered into my face.

"Master wishes to kill you with his own hands; he wishes to see your life slip out of his hands as blood oozes from the wounds he inflicted on you, but he will not be able to. I am going to kill you now because I wish to enjoy the sight of your life being taken by me," she hissed, smiling menacingly.

Black blurred my vision as she laughed at my pain. I struggled until I couldn't move. I stayed underneath her as my life slowly faded.

Suddenly, her hands were released from my neck, and I breathed deeply, welcoming the air into my lungs. I coughed as my dry throat intook air. After a few moments, the black evaporated from my vision, and I was able to see.

Damien had Lucy by the throat, holding her in the air. I tried to scream, but I still couldn't speak. I crawled towards Damien's feet. He had a look of pure determination on his face as my only family member left was hanging in his grasp.

"Damien!' I croaked. "Damien, stop!"

Damien looked down at me, and I almost gasped. Damien had blue streaks in his hair and a blue mist surrounding him, but that's not what shocked me.

Damien's eyes were green, his original eye color.

His eyes automatically softened as he looked at me. "M, are you okay?"

My eyes moved to my sister's, tears filling my eyes. "Don't hurt her."

He nodded slowly and placed her on the ground, snatching her hands before she could react. Pulling her hands behind her back and gripping them tight, he looked at me.

"What do you want me to do with her?" Damien asked.

I slowly stood up, still a little unbalanced from lack of oxygen. "I need to go find a store with ducktape in it. Keep a hold on her until I get back."

He nodded as I walked away. I wandered around the hollowed-out town, searching for a store. I spotted a drug store a couple of blocks away, so I headed towards it.

Once I was inside, I quickly searched the store. At the last aisle, I finally found a roll of ducktape. I snatched a roll and rushed out of the store. I sprinted the five blocks I had traveled to the drug store back to Damien and my sister.

Damien was standing in the same position as he had been when I left. Lucy was still struggling in his arms, but Damien had a grip of iron on her.

I walked to them, quickly ripping a piece of ducktape to use. I wrapped the ducktape around her wrists tight and thick. Without pausing, I wrapped more ducktape around her ankles so she wouldn't try to run.

I turned to Damien, who was still holding on to Lucy. "Let's take her to the room. I want to see if we can regain her humanity."

He nodded, still not speaking. We walked back into the hotel to the room we staying in. Damien set Lucy down on the couch; Lucy was still fighting him as he let go. She snarled and hissed at us as we walked into the bedroom Lucy and I had shared.

As Damien shut the door, I spoke. "Damien, how did- what the-"

Damien placed his hands on my shoulders, shushing me. "While you were fighting Lucy, I ran off to find a Hazer. Once I happened to find one, I did wha Lucy told me. Then I came back to save you."

My eyebrows furrowed at him. "But how did you keep your humanity?"

He ran his hands through his blonde hair as he stared into my eyes. "I thought of you while the Haze took over. Instead of thinking 'kill', I thought 'M'."

I stared into Damien''s eyes as he spoke. His eyes showed pure emotion and honesty as I listened.

I was shocked as I let what he said sink in. "You thought of me?"

He nodded, his cheeks getting a bit red. "Yes."

I sighed. "Thank you for keeping your humanity. I would have been dead if it weren't for you."

He nodded slowly, looking a bit confused. "You're welcome."

I nodded back as I headed for the door. "Let's go get Lucy back."

We walked back into the living where Lucy was laying in the floor, thrashing around. She whipped her head up as we entered the room, growling at us.

I picked her up and sat her back on the couch, grabbing her chin. "Lucy, look at me. It's Maia. It's me. Come back."

Lucy glared at me with her teeth bared. "She isn't coming back. She isn't strong enough."

I glared back at Lucy, baring my own teeth to challenge her. "She is strong enough, and if she isn't, we'll just suck you out, you filthy parasite."

Hazer- Lucy smiled at me teasingly, as if it knew something I didn't. "You can't do anything, Strong One. Unless you get an willing, untainted host, you will never see your Lucy ever again."

I growled at the creature, despising its existence. Without thinking, I pressed my lips to Lucy's, determined to get my sister back.

Sickeningly, the creature kissed me, and I yanked myself away quickly, rubbing my lips with the back of my hand. Hazer- Lucy just laughed at me.

"See what I mean? Lucy isn't coming back," the parasite teased, smiling evilly.

I growled loudly, chunking a vase across the room and into the wall. Damien placed a comforting hand on my shoulder as I seethed. "It's okay, M."

I whirled around, facing him. "No, it's not. Lucy's gone and it's all my fault!"

I stared down at the parasite who was still seated on the couch. "I'm so sorry, Lucy."

And, with that, I snapped her neck.
