Films always have a way of making me feel good when I am down.
(Well. It depends on the genre, actually. I personally dislike horror films, and a sad film does not make me feel any happier. *cough* The Fault in our Stars *cough*)
Anyway. I don't know how it works or why it works, but I honestly do feel so much better when I watch a film. Maybe it's an escape for a couple of hours? Maybe people feel satisfaction in seeing a good ending? I don't know.
But, what I do know is that when I feel down or stressed or overloaded, I take the time to sit down and watch a film.
