Suddenly, there were screams and squeals  coming from the other side of the breakfast hall. At first I was confused but then it clicked in my head what was going on.

Syd and I looked at each other as the others stood up from the table, trying to get a good view of what was going on.

Sophie : what's that?

Harper : I don't know, let's go see.

They all began to walk away from the table, towards the screaming girls, until the principal suddenly raised his voice so that we could all hear him.

Principal : right, everyone up to there rooms! Pack your day bags and be in the corridor in 10!

We all rushed out of the hall, forgetting about the screaming, and made our way up to our rooms. As soon as we were there, we stuffed suncream, water, snacks, cameras and phones in our bags and rushed out into the corridor.

I wore denim shorts, leather sandals and a cropped t-shirt. Only, you couldn't see the shirt because of the hoodie I wore over it. As soon as I walked out into the hall I immediately felt left out and different.

Everyone wore strapped tops or short sleeved t-shirts whereas I couldn't. I couldn't risk people noticing the bruises that took over my arms. I had no choice but to where this jumper, no matter how warm I'll be.

We sat, waiting out in the hall for the rest of our class to arrive. We thought we were late, hence why we were rushing, but obviously not. Or maybe everyone else was just extra late.

By the time everyone was out in the corridor, it had been 20 minutes over the time that was given by the principal so all the teachers weren't that happy.

Principal : today, as you all know, is the day we are going into the old city of Dubrovnik and then in the afternoon going up the cable car to the top of a mountain.

There was sudden chatter and mumbles in the class.

Principal : shh! I hope you will all respect your teachers today and most importantly, stay with the group! Is this clear?

The class all nodded back.

Principal : if one of you go missing, it will be my responsibility and I don't want to have to deal with that.

Sydney : again, doesn't care about our safety, just doesn't want to deal with it.

Harper and I laughed.

Principal : Sam!

My face turned red.

Principal : is this clear?!?

Sam : yes

Principal : good, right let's get this party started, shall we?

Sam : why does he always pick on me?

Harper : who knows.

The class cheered, including the teachers. We all then made our way down the corridor, down the stairs, out into the car park and onto the bus, in the space of a couple of minutes as we were already late.

This time it was Harper's turn to be a loner so she sat down next to a randomer as Syd and I sat next to each other.

Sydney : do you think we should tell her about last night?

Sam : yeah, just not when other people are about.

Sydney : yeah, that's what I was thinking. It's just that we're gonna be surrounded by other people all day.

Sam : then we'll tell her tonight.

Sydney : deal.

20 minutes went by of a loud bus load of teenagers singing along to the songs that were playing on the radio. At one point a Marcus and Martinus song came on and Syd and I just looked at each other and giggled.
