Escape // Marcus and Martinus Story ❤️❤️

Chp 23

Having heard about my nonexistent cousin that fell out of a tree and is now in hospital, Harper rubbed my back in comfort. To get out of the situation I suddenly jumped up from my sun bed as Sydney jumped out of her snooze and everyone's eyes were on me.

Sam : let's go for a swim!

Sydney : jeezzzz, I was enjoying that sleep.

Sam : well tuff, I didn't come here to sleep. I came here to have fun and that's what we're gonna do so you're gonna just have to deal with that. Let's go.

Marcus : what's up with you this morning?

Sam : what?

Harper : how many coffees did you have at breakfast?

They both laughed making me annoyed. I looked over at Martinus who was still not making direct eye contact after the incident that happened earlier.

Sam : I'm fine! Come on.

Marcus and Harper got up from their beds leaving Martinus and Sydney.

Marcus : you guys not coming?

Harper : come on Syd!

Sydney : nah I'm just gonna sleep here thanks.

Marcus : Martinus?

Martinus : um no, I-I'm just gonna stay.

Marcus : fine, be that way.

The three of us made our way to the, now kinda busy, swimming pool. Pupils from our school and random people were everywhere we looked ; splashing about in the pool, doing bellyflops into the pool and laughing with each other.

I dipped my toe onto the water to see if it was cold but took it right back out again when I realised that it was freezing.

Sam : woah, it's absolutely fre-

The next thing I knew there was strong sturdy arms wrapped around me and long blonde hair in my eyes before we both splashed into the water together. Marcus had grabbed me and pulled me in with him.

As soon as I got up from the water I gasped in astonishment as he giggled to himself. I began splashing him with water as he tried to swim away from me.

Meanwhile, Harper stood over us at the side of the pool with her arms crossed in disapproval.

Sam : ugh come on Harper, lighten up! Get in or I'll push you in myself!

She grunted as she looked over at the other side of the pool where her new found friends were. Suddenly a splash of water hit my face, making me turn to Marcus and splash him back, laughing.

I turned back up to where Harper was stood to realise she was on her way over to her other friends.

Sam : where are you going?

Harper : just gonna say hi.

I watched her as she kept walking and eventually made it to the group of girls.

Marcus : you ok?

Sam : what yeah.

Marcus : what's up with Harper?
