As we walked down to the swimming pool with all our things, I took out my phone to see numerous messages pop up on my screen, most of which were from Joel.

"Joel : hello?"

"Joel : why aren't you answering me!?!"

"Joel : SAM!!!"

As soon as I saw them I switched off my phone and put it back in my bag.

Harper : are you not gonna reply?

Sam : oh um yeah.

Reluctantly, I took out my phone again and pretended to text him back as Harper and Sydney jogged ahead, excited to see the pool for the first time. I put my phone back in my pocket, having not replied to Joel, and jogged ahead with them.

When we made it outside, it was actually surprisingly quiet but our class was right behind us so we ran to get sun beds as fast as we could. We chucked our towels on three beds with great effort and sighed with relief.

Sam : I'm gonna go get changed, I'll be back in a minute.

Sydney : ok, we'll guard the beds.

Sam : cool.

I made it to the changing huts with my bag filled with all my swimming things and went inside the only free one left. I closed the door behind me realising that the lock was broken but I couldn't be bothered waiting so I just made do and tried jamming it with my bag

I rummaged through my bag for my swimming costume before finally finding it and taking my top off to put it on. I was looking in the mirror, smiling to see that the bruises from Joel were fading away, when suddenly the door of my hut flew open revealing Martinus standing by it, his face the most brightest shade of red you've ever seen as his eyes widened, in shock, at the view of my naked top half.

I grabbed my top in a panic trying to cover myself up as my face also turned red hot. I was the most embarrassed I've ever been in my whole entire life. Why did this have to happen to me. Just why.

Sam : get out!

He quickly swung close the door leaving me in a breathless state of pure shock and embarrassment. As I continued to change into my swimming costume, I went over in my head how I was possibly gonna face Martinus ever again. I couldn't.

When I finally worked up the courage to go out, I grabbed my things and made my way back to the sun beds. When I made it back I wasn't completely my normal bubbly self but rather a quiet one.

Harper : ok I'm gonna go get changed now, where are they Sam?

I laid down on my bed, completely oblivious that she had just asked me a question.

Harper : Sam!?

Sam : oh um yeah they are.

Harper : what? I asked you where they are?

Sam : oh just along there and to the right.

Harper : ok thanks, be back in a minute.

Sydney was lying on the sun bed beside me, trying to figure out why I was so distant.

Sydney : um Sam? Care to explain why you're literally on a different planet right now?

Sam : what?! No I'm not! I'm fine, nothing happened....I'm fine!

Sydney : hmm, nope. I've decided that I don't believe you.

I fiddled with my earphones, desperately trying to untangle them as fast as I could to get out of this conversation.
