I walked into the house and headed directly for the kitchen, just like every other day. I grab a bottle of water from the fridge and crack it open, taking a long swig of it. I hear Geoff behind me and turn toward him, "Hey, love." I smile at him, "Hey, babe." He says with an identical smile. I set my water bottle down and hop onto the counter, watching as Geoff pulls out four slices of bread to make us a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, as part of our daily routine. Geoff passes me the sandwich he just made and continues making his own.

Looking at the sandwich after taking a bite, I think to myself, "Wow, we need a change in our life." Geoff looks up from cutting bread into triangles, "What kind of changes?" He asks, I look over at him with my brow furrowed, "Huh?" I say, mouth full of p.b.&j "You said we need a change in our life, so, what changes are you thinking?" Geoff settles between my legs dangling from the counter, "I don't know. We have a routine and it's kind of a ridiculous one." I chuckle, running a head through Geoff's hair.

"You mean the routine where I come home, drink a beer then head to the basement until you come home and drink a bottle of water while I make p.b&j's and then we head back to the basement and you fall asleep on me while I play video games? That routine?" Geoff chuckled as he leaned his back further to look at me, I roll my eyes but nod anyway. "Yeah, so I think we should do something spontaneous." I push him off of me and hop off the counter, opening the fridge, I grab the bag of grapes and sit in the recliner in the living room.

"Okay, miss. Spontaneity, what do you think we should do?" Geoff asks, leaning over the back of the chair so the back leans toward him a bit and I'm looking up at him. I think for a second and gasp, "I'll dye my hair! On my own, no salon!" I say and smile at Geoff, "Not even Awsten's help?" Geoff asked, wide-eyed "Maybe Awsten's help, he can be here and help with spots that I miss." I stand from the chair and it falls backwards due to Geoff's weight on the back so Geoff falls head first into the chair. I laugh loudly and put the grapes away.

I smile at Geoff as we walk onto the hair dye aisle, I squeeze his hand and pull him closer to me as I look through all the colors, "Should I do wild color or natural?" I look up at Geoff, he shrugs, "What's more spontaneous?" He smirks. I reach for the vibrant purple box and turn to him, "This one." I say matter-of-factly. Geoff laughs as he texts Awsten to meet us at our house, following me off the aisle after I grab the bleach and other things, we go ahead and pick up color-safe shampoo and conditioner as well.

I look up at Geoff as we hear a car door slam outside, in our driveway. The doorbell rings and I jump up, skipping to the door. "Thank you for coming," I smile at Awsten as he walks into the living room, sitting on the end of the couch opposite of Geoff. I grab the Wal-Mart bag from the coffee table and head the upstairs bathroom, "I'll be back in a minute!" I call from half-way up the staircase. I hear the guys laughing as I shut the bathroom door.

I wet my hair down and began the bleaching process. After covering every strand of hair I could possibly touch, I head back down the stairs. Awsten and Geoff are sitting at the kitchen table, talking about new stuff for the band and songs. I walk over and sit next to Geoff, "Is it supposed to burn?" I ask Awsten, wincing slightly as I touch the foil in my hair, "Yeah, especially if you got it on your scalp. Be careful though, you might get chemical blisters on your scalp if you wait too long to wash it out." Awsten warns. I nod and look at the timer on my phone as Awsten gets up, walking around to me and looking under the foil strips, "Hey, not bad for your first time, it's already lightening." He says, putting the foil back into place.

After fifteen minutes of waiting and burning, I head back upstairs and wash my hair out with cool water first then hot, turn off the water and wrap my hair up in a towel. I go downstairs and sit next to Geoff on the couch, leaning my head back, "I'm regretting this." I groan causing Geoff to chuckle, "Why?" Geoff looks over at me, "My head hurts and I'm tired of going up the stairs for everything." I lean up and rub the back of my head, "Where'd Awsten go?" I ask, looking around and noticing he's nowhere to see. "He had to go help his parents with something." Geoff answered, "Do you need help putting the color in?" He asked with a smile. I looked up at him with a sad smile and nod my head. "Okay, sweetie. Come on," Geoff says as he kisses my nose before standing and pulling me up with him. "Where are you going?" I laugh as Geoff sprints up the stair, "I'm getting the dye," he calls, "so you don't have to go back upstairs, we can rinse and stuff in the sink." Geoff smiles as he comes back down the stairs.

I sit in the chair and lean my head back, feeling the cold liquid hit my scalp. "Okay, now rub it in." I tell Geoff and he follows, gently massaging the color into my hair. I sit in the chair for half an hour as Geoff makes sure to color every strand bright purple. "Alright and now you just sit here while it soaks into your hair." Geoff says as he sits next to me with a smile.

I bend over, face first, over the sink and Geoff stands behind me, leaning over my back. I hear him laugh softly, "What's so funny?" I ask, covering my eyes so water doesn't splash in them. "This isn't the first time we've been in this position." Geoff says, chuckling. I sigh deeply as he starts rinsing my hair, I can't help but look and see all the purple water go down the drain. Geoff turns off the water after playing with my hair for a good minute. "Here," Geoff says, bringing me the towel I used for the bleach. I wrap my hair up and stand up straight, "Thank you so much." I say as I walk past him and to the mirror above the couch. I take the towel off my head and shake my hair a bit so it falls over my shoulders. I run my fingers through the, now purple, strands, smiling at Geoff. "It looks amazing, baby." Geoff said, kissing my cheeks "Good thing you helped or I would've fucking stayed blonde." I laughed, wrapping my arms around his torso, "I think blondes are overrated, anyway." Geoff laughed and pulled me into his chest. "Uh, hey," I pull away from him for a moment, "your shirt's gonna have a giant purple spot now." I giggled. Geoff shrugged, "I'll deal with it." He said as he pulled against him again.
