Chapter 24: Ava

During the night I was awoken by a too cuddling Xavier. The cold nights made it comfortable enough but Xavier’s body heat was just too much. I pull away from him a little but he just pulls me right back. I felt his hand move from my hip bone up my shirt and by that action I know he’s awake. I turn around and slap his hand away. Xavier smiles brightly at me. I struggle to get out of the sleeping bag and when I free myself I start to walk away from where everyone is sleeping. I hugged myself as I walked through the woods.

          The sun was just starting to appear and the birds began to chirp around me. I hadn’t gotten far before I heard Xavier, “What’s wrong? Did I do something to piss you off?”

          I shook my head and turned to look at him, “I just miss her Xavier. And you don’t help because you’re always saying how much she annoys you or how much you’re sick of her. But do you know that Serena is the one who encouraged me to give you a chance. She wanted me happy and saw that you could give me that.”

          “I joke about the ones I care for Ava. I joke with you all the time,” Xavier says trying to defend himself.

          “Yeah right! She is the only family I have left and it’s hard knowing you two don’t get along because of you!” I say pointing at him.

          “Well she’s too much of a…a…good fricken person!” He yells.

          I raise my eyebrows in shock at what he just said, “And that’s a bad thing?”

          “Yes! Because sometimes life requires you to have a backbone and be an ass but she can’t! I swear it isn’t part of her nature! I don’t know why it bugs me, it just does,” Xavier’s says calming himself down. “Plus the one thing I love about you is that you can bitch someone out no problem. That turns me on because I need someone like that. I need you Ava.”

          “Okay don’t get all sappy on me. I was just yelling at you. I need someone to vent and to yell at for Serena’s disappearance and since you’re here you are the willing participant!”

          “Then yell at me! I won’t argue,” Xavier challenges me as he crossing his arms across his chest.

          I point at him and yell, “I swear, you are the most…you are…ugh! Just forget it!”

          “Come on Ava, yell at me!” Xavier snaps.

          I turn around to face him. So many emotions flash through me but I could only focus on one. Without thinking I ran over to him and jumped up so my legs went around his waist. Xavier wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. I crashed my lips to his and tangled my fingers into his hair.

          When I came up for air Xavier kept kissing his way across my jaw to my neck. I gasped, “Mark me Xavier. If I can’t have you now I at least want your mark on my neck.”

          Xavier’s lips stilled on my neck. He leaned back and looked at me, “Now?”

          “Xavier I can’t stand seeing you without having thoughts in my head. And by thoughts I mean dirty thoughts. If we weren’t in this situation I would take you right here!”

          Instead of answering me he crashed his lips to mine once more. I felt him backing us up until I felt a sturdy surface behind me. I didn’t care what was behind me; all I cared about was Xavier. I wrapped my arms around his neck and brought him closer. I gasped when he grabbed my ass which gave him the opportunity to plunge his tongue in my mouth. I moaned loudly and pulled his hair roughly. His hold on me tightened as he started to kiss me more instantly.

          “Mark me,” I plead as he kisses his way down to my neck again.

          “Are you sure,” he says between kisses.

          “God damn it yes!” I yelled.

          I heard Xavier laughing when he raised his head to look at me, “Someone’s eager.”  

          I glared at him, “Please mark me already.”

          Xavier cupped my face tenderly and kissed me softly on the lips before moving my head to the side for better access. He slowly kissed his way down and took damn long taking his time. He kissed me on my neck before I felt the sharp pain. I winced at first but then it didn’t affect me. When Xavier pulled back he slowly licked the blood that escaped and tended to his bite. I threw my head back in ecstasy as I felt Xavier’s thoughts and emotions invade me.

          How are you feeling? Xavier asked through our mind link as he kept licked my wound.

          “I’m…amazing!” I gasped.

          Once Xavier was done he leaned up to look at me. He had a huge smile planted on his face, “Full of yourself?”

          “What? I meant your bite felt amazing.”

          “Okay,” Xavier mumbled before grasping on my face and pulled my lips to his. “Thank you for letting me mark you.”

          I shook my head, “Don’t thank me. I would’ve let you eventually plus it was the only thing I wanted. Well, not the only thing.”

          Xavier narrowed his eyes, “Remember I can feel your emotions now. I can let you’re horny and it’s taking everything within me not to take you.”

          Suddenly we hear Josh burst out, “I can feel her! She’s close.”

          I look at Xavier, “I guess sex is going to have to wait.”

          Xavier sighed and let my feet touch the ground, “Of course it has to wait. Serena…,” he let his thought fade away but I had a feeling of what he was going to say anyway.

          “Alright lets get going,” I say.
