After what seemed like hours I headed back to the house. It was dark out now and I couldn't see a thing. It's a good thing they left the porch light on otherwise I wouldn't even know if I was heading in the right direction. I could only imagine how angry everyone was when Mik returned without me. They probably gave him hell, but he knew exactly what I needed. I need to thank him for being so understanding.

"I'm sorry." I jumped and turned to see Lucius sitting on the porch with his head in his hands. I wanted to comfort him and tell him everything was going to be ok, but I don't know that for a fact. I walk over and sit next to him. He doesn't move, doesn't even look up. "I'm sorry I called you unstable. I just wasn't sure how you would respond and I didn't want to make you mad or uncomfortable and it seems I did it anyway."

"Mik told you, didn't he?" Without looking up or even changing his position he nodded. I shook my head, but found myself smiling anyway.

"What?" I looked over to see Lucius staring at me, confused.

"He's a good guy." I paused and saw Lucius' eyes widen. "He's really sweet and kind and he would make a great relationship/marriage counselor one day." Finally he cracked a smile, but I could tell it was forced. "Stop worrying Lucius. I'm still here, aren't I?" After a moment he sat up.

"Why?" I rolled my eyes.

"Lucius you are one of the most complicated men I have ever met. You are beautiful and kind and sexy and yet you have major self-esteem issues like you really don't understand how attractive you are. Didn't you see on your first day of school, all the girls drooling over you?" He went to talk but I put my finger over his lips. "Don't you dare say it's your wolf charm, because I think that's a load of crap. Awful information told to you by everyone because they've never been told otherwise either, but people aren't attracted to you because you're different and they sense the danger. They're attracted to you because you're all the things women want in a man." His eye brows creased. "Do I really have to go over the list again?" He smiled under my finger, but before I could pull away he grabbed my hand and kissed each of my fingers one by one. When he got to my last finger he nipped it gently before he looked me in the eyes and smiled. Not a forced one or a half one, but a full on smile. I couldn't help but return it.

"You really are an amazing woman." I blushed looking away. "My mother warned me about you." I turned my head back to face him and cocked my head to the side. "She warned me about women like you who would come into my life under strange circumstances and still love me when they would find out what I am." He reached up and cupped my cheek.

"You're waiting for me to run aren't you?" He looked down and I could see the sad truth in his eyes. I grabbed his face forcefully making him look at me. "Lucius stop!" He looked away. "Look at me." Instead of looking at me he dropped my hand and pushed himself a little away. "Ok I'll leave." I stood up to leave, but he grasped my wrist turning me around.

"I don't want you to go."

"Then stop pushing me away." He looked down but met my eyes shortly after. "I know you're scared, but so am I, but I'm also happy. I'm happy with my life here and being with you and not having to worry about Ted. I'm happy because even though I don't understand what's going on, I feel more confident and alive." He looked down. "Please don't ruin this." His head whipped up and he started to shake and in the course of a few seconds, his head was on my shoulder and he was holding me to him so tightly that I thought I would break at any second, but I didn't care. I reached my hands up and comforted him. I've never seen him loose this much control.

When he finally stopped crying I took his hand and led him up the stairs. I could see the rest of his family sitting on the coach watching us, but again I didn't care. He needed me and the last thing I wanted was his brothers to make fun of him. I sat him down on the bed, but when I went to close the door he pulled me back until I was sitting in his lap.

"Please don't leave." I grasped his cheek.

"I'm just going to close the door." He reached behind him, grabbed a pillow, and threw it at the door successfully closing it. "Nice." He smiled as he wrapped his arms around me. I leaned my head into his shoulder and he sighed. I let him have a few more seconds before I started to push away. His arms automatically tightened. His eyes growing wide. "Lucius I have to go to the bathroom." He relaxed and let me go. I could feel his eyes on me until I closed the bathroom door. Holy crap. He needs me now more than ever and I don't know what to do? And that's when it hits me. I know exactly what he needs. He needs to clear his head. Frantically moving around the bathroom I freshen up a bit, but not much so he doesn't scent too much of a change. I opened the door and shut the light off but when I looked over Lucius wasn't on the bed. I slowly closed the door and before my eyes could search around the room forceful hands grabbed my waste and gently pushed me against the wall. I was about to scream when he started to kiss me. I couldn't help but feel his desperation, so I moved my hands up to his hair while his hands started to move up my sides taking my shirt with. When he got to the bottom of my bra his hands froze as his mouth moved to my neck. Holy Jesus! I smile as his hands run back down my sides until he grasps my thighs. I gasp but follow his instructions anyway. I wrap my legs around his waist as he walks towards the bed connecting his mouth once again with mine. "I love you Devyn." I froze looking into his eyes.

"What?" My eyes were wide.

"You are the most amazing woman I have ever met and I love you."

"Why?" I gasped. He put his hands on either side of my face.

"It seems like we have the same issue. You are beautiful and sweet and so sexy I have troubles controlling myself." I snort. "Devyn you are stunning and it seems as if you have a spell over me because I always want to be where you are. I wanted to follow you into the woods, but my family said you needed space. That I'd scare you away if I smothered you, but you're never anything but nice and it makes me crazy. I want you to be mad, but when you are I don't like it when you're mad at me." His gaze never falters. "Devyn, you're perfect in every way and I know most guys say that to get into a woman's pants, but all I want is for you to stay. I don't want to force you into anything, but no one has ever made me feel like this. I feel vulnerable, like you can see right through me and it scares me." I gasp but he continues. "You know me more than anyone ever has and to some extent that forces me to be vulnerable and I thought it would make me weak, but instead it has made me stronger. You're my anchor. When I feel like I'm about to lose control I think of you or hear your voice in my head and just like that, I have control." He moves his finger across my face and wipes away tears that I didn't even know I had. "I love you with every fiber of my being and if you want me, I'm yours." I can't breathe. This handsome man wants me. Why the hell would he ever choose that? I look him in the eyes and they are wide. I'd forgotten in the mist of my frantic thoughts that I hadn't given him an answer. I reach up and cup his cheek in my hand.

"I will always want you." He let out a sigh of relief and a shy but stunning smile before leaning down and kissing me. I love this man. Holy crap! I love him and he loves me. I never thought I would have such a fairytale type love. There is nothing that could ruin this for me. Not now and not ever.

"Devyn, wake up." I groaned and threw the blanket over my face. Lucius laughed. "Devyn, if you don't get up I'm carrying you to school like this." He chuckled again as I threw the blanket off me and booked it to the bathroom. There is no way I'm going to school in my holy pajamas with hair all knotty and crazy and smelling disgusting. I was brushing my teeth when Lucius came in and hugged me around the waist. I tried to smile, but in the process toothpaste came out and landed on my shirt. I quickly bent over to spit before asking Lucius to grab me yet another shirt. I had the hardest time picking an outfit and now it rests in his hands.

"Don't pick out anything ridiculous." I took my shirt off and started to clean off the toothpaste when Lucius came back in with the biggest smile on his face.

"For you, madam."

"Madam?" There was a smile on his face. "Excuse me but do I look like an older woman to you?" His smile grew. I snatched the shirt out of his hands and put it on without even looking at it. His eyes were wide.

"I trust that you gave me a good shirt because if you didn't you will suffer later." His mouth dropped open as I left the bathroom and walked across the room to his desk to put on my shoes. Today feels like a sandal day. When I stood up Lucius was waiting by the door with his back pack strung along his shoulders and mine in his hands. Could my life get any better?
