The evening was approaching, and the plan is that me, Issy and the boys will be going to the fair. It took the boys a lot of persuading, not so much Van and Larry or Bob, Just Benji. He'd rather be out drinking all night. It was a lovely idea on Issy's side, I wouldn't have requested it to Van if she had never told me.
Now this was the hard part. Deciding what to wear, because if we wear something too thick or too many layers, that means we'll be sweating because of the heat from the stalls and rides, leaving us to carry around all of the clothing we've taken off. So finding clothes that would be suitable is being a challenge for me and Issy.
"Why don't you pick something out for me and I'll do the same for you?" I suggested and Issy contently nodded,
"Ok. Make sure it goes together!" She called through as I made my way round to her bedroom and opened her wardrobe, hoping she'd have something decent to wear. I found her some black skinny jeans that didn't have rips in, unlike me who loves them. I rummaged further to find an old Oasis shirt that she had, it was pretty old but it suits her personality and style, so I took that from the hanger and held it over my arm. Now for a jacket. I found a denim jacket hung on the back of the door and I grabbed it, hopefully she'll like it. I took the outfit back into my room to see that she had picked out an actual decent outfit for me.
"Right, so, I didn't know what kind of jeans so I went with theeese ones, with the adidas top and the hoodie van gave you, oh and these shoes!" She had it all laid out out. It looked pretty comfy actually.
"So for you, I found these jeans because that's all you own, then this top which I haven't seen you wear in ages, then this jacket?" I explained, handing the clothes to her one by one and she laid it out on the floor, standing back to look at it.
"You know me so well." She laughed. "Ok, right, I'll get changed then I'll text Bondy and see where the boys are." She went off to the other side of my bed and started to get changed, as so did I.
We observed our outfits in the full length mirror that rested against my wall opposite my bed.
"Not bad Issy." I nodded as she stood next to me, "it's actually pretty good. Thanks." I put my arm around her shoulder with a smile and she did the same.
"You've done so good, I really like it. I should wear this more often." She laughed contently. "Well, I'll go ring Bondy and see what's happening." And off she went, walking round the landing, in and out of rooms as she listened for Bondy's reply. Meanwhile, I decided to wear my hair down for once, like yesterday going to Van's.
"Bondy's doesn't know if he can make it." Issy huffed, walking back into the bedroom as I was applying mascara to my lashes before fixing my fringe.
"Oh. How come?" I asked a bit surprised since he seemed keen to come.
"I don't know he didn't give a proper answer, he said he'll let me know." She shrugged the frown from her lips as I sat on the bed, pulling my shoes onto my feet.
"Well, it's not the end of the world if he doesn't come, 'cause I'm sure you'll see him tomorrow or whenever he next comes over?" I tried to not dampen her spirits with an alternative excuse.
"Yeah, guess so. Oh well." She shrugged again then ran to answer the door as someone (most likely the lads) knocked really hard on it. I quickly grabbed my phone, keys and my purse before joining them downstairs.
Van's arms went around my shoulder as he greeted me with a kiss on the cheek.
"We all ready?" I asked with a smile. They all nodded happily and made their way back out of the door and I joined them, locking the door behind me. We walked to the fair since it wasn't that far from us because I lived a few streets away from the beach - where it was happening. Issy kept asking me if Bondy had messaged me to see if he was coming, but sadly I had non. I felt bad since she really wanted him to come.
