Chapter 23 – We wait.

Daniel looked at Jake, practically telling him to stop the others.

“I swear Jake, if you touch me, you die right here, right now” Zayn spat. Then, chaos was spread, men started coming in and shooting. I looked over at Koby and saw he had gotten out of the guys grip, he was now punching him. He looked over at me. He threw me his hoodie, which meant he was only wearing a shirt.

“Run” He mouthed picking up a gun. I nodded and started sprinting away. I turned back and saw Daniel chasing me. I started sprinting up a staircase. I knew I had to find some weapon; it was one of my only chances of surviving.

“You can’t run from me” Daniel shouted. It made me go faster. Never look back. The one rule of running away from someone. If you look back, there is a high risk of the person you are running from catching you, or you falling over.

“That’s what im doing idiot” I shouted back. I made it into a room and found a knife, finally a weapon. I heard the door open and I turned seeing Daniel.

“Trapped now April” He said.

“Come close to me, I dare you” I spat. He did, he came close to me and I didn’t do anything. He came even closer to me and I stabbed him, right in the shoulder. He crouched down in pain and I took that to my advantage. I ran away, I needed to find Koby and everyone else. I looked at my hands seeing blood. Shit. I looked to the right and saw a gun. I picked it up and ran down the stairs. When I got to the bottom, I made sure to pull Koby’s hood over my head. Holding the gun felt different, maybe because it was actually going to mean something today.

“Where’s Daniel?” A whisper from beside me. I jumped and looked to my side, seeing one of Koby’s gang members.

“Upstairs in one of the rooms. A knife in his shoulder” I said and he nodded.

“Good work. Harrison, make sure you know who you shoot” He said before running off. I looked around trying to find someone I knew. I found James. He looked at me and urged me to come over.

“Don’t shoot anyone, unless you really badly need to, whatever happens, I love you okay?” James said and I nodded. He pointed outside.

“Run out and youll find the cars” He stopped to shoot someone aiming a gun at one of our members. He shot him down.

“Go to my one, you know the number plate. Rory is in the car. You have a gun in your hands, protect yourself. Also under the back seats are bulletproof vests and guns, put them on. If we aren’t out in ten minutes you and rory come in, Be careful Ap” He said and I nodded. I looked around and then started sprinting out of the building, I held the gun in my hand tightly. I saw a bunch of cars. I looked for the familiar number plate and saw it. I opened the door and saw Rory laying in the backseat crying.

“Rory, are you okay?” She nodded.

“Im just so scared right now” She said and I hugged her tightly. I reached under the seat and found what James was talking about.
