Second POV:
Months have passed by, and things didn't really change. However, they did get better in some aspects. The school year is ending soon. You were supposed to graduate this month, which is March, but due to changes of events and breaks, the school decided to move the graduation to next month...
The same thing happened to Iwaizumi, but the difference is, that the graduation is the least of his worries right about now. This month, there is a competition called Spring High Representative Playoffs. This is the last chance for him and his team to beat his longtime rivals and go to nationals with everyone.
Iwaizumi and Oikawa have been trying to beat that rival all the way since middle school. That's why he is practicing almost every day for hours with Oikawa so he can be ready and in shape to play and win!
He does feel a lot of responsibility like he is carrying the team on his shoulders since he is the Ace of the team. You try almost every time you meet him to tell him that it's teamwork and not to take things alone.
Obviously, you see right through him when he says 'ya sure' just to brush you off. Come on! You have been dating for ten months now. The least thing you could do is know when your boyfriend is lying or what he does in his face when he tries to hide a lie. For example, he doesn't look you in the eye and how he itches the back of his hand to keep himself composed.
You have also been trying to be a supportive girlfriend, by taking care of him when he is tired or getting him snacks that would boost up his energy for practice. Sometimes you also wait for him at the end of the day, even after his extra practice and walk home together.
Recently that is the only way you get to see Iwaizumi. You don't blame him of course. This tournament means a lot to him, and you respect the effort he is putting in to improve himself. However, you do get worried about him, scared he would collapse from exhaustion, or get sick and not be able to play...
BUT! You will not let these negative thoughts take control and hope for the best for him. He does deserve it at the end.
As the tournament is just getting started. You copied their game schedule to know when he plays who and be able to mark how much left till they fight off their rival. Sometimes you don't believe how into the sport you got once you started getting to know Iwaizumi and since you have been dating. You never thought that you would be taking time off from your schedule just to go and watch him play some games.
You went to every game!
Always up there, cheering for him... And his team as well. You were always the loudest, and you didn't care this time. Your boyfriend is down there! Fighting for his trophy and his victory! And you found it part of your role to cheer for him and give him courage when he and if he needs it.
There was only one time you were conflicted about who to cheer for. You didn't want this match to happen. But for that to change one of the teams had to lose before and you wanted neither to lose. It was complicated.
The team they are going up against this time is your one and only school's team. Karasuno!
You did notice for the last couple months that Suga and Daichi have been very busy and practicing a lot. Even Tanaka and Noya didn't have time to go to the arcade with you. You found it weird at first but figured even these two idiots were serious about something!
"(Y/N)-chan!!!!!" You hear that loud voice and look on the other side of the court and see Tanaka and Noya jumping up and down trying to get your attention! "Cheer for us!!"
You wave back and wish them good luck, however you did feel a glare coming your way from your side of the court. No matter how many times it happens, when you see a jealous Iwaizumi, you just love and have the urge to just run up to him and hug him!
