I love insurance. I love it so much because now I have a new vessel. This one was new, brand new, the white hull shined in the water. Ropes, nets, pulleys and a few low paid men later and I was back behind the wheel. We looked like any other commercial fishing boat, and that's what the crew knew.
Only Wiley knew the truth beneath the fishy facade. We were fishing, really we were, fishing mermen. The fish that we caught in out massive nets was only the icing on top.
In a room next to my quarters was a tank specifically for him. I bought the biggest fucking plexiglass fish tank that I could, and then put a heavy lid on top, which I could lock with a single key.
"How are we going to find him, sir? He could be anywhere." Wiley questioned besides me. I simply smiled, running my fingers through my beard.
"Wiley, look at that monitor. See the blip? That's a tracker. I lodged that bastard in the female, a long time ago. If we find her, he will not be far behind." I smiled wickedly.
Wiley looked at me with worry. "We aren't going to hurt her are we?"
"Hopefully we won't have to, but if he doesn't show than we might rough her up a bit." His eyes widened, but looked away, disappointed.
