Chapter 15:

Gotcha!

The car begins to drive down the gravel road; a road that I have come to recognise very well in these past few months. It's the road to Sophie's house.

Today, Zara has invited us both round to sunbathe in her garden. This July it has been crazily hot, so we've decided to make the most of it by an all girls, tanning day.

Sophie doesn't have a car to drive yet, so she mostly relies on catching a lift from either me or Blake. I don't mind though, Sophie's done a lot for me since I moved in March and I'll do anything for her in return.

On my first day she was the person that welcomed me the most, which I still find strange considering she is the most popular girl at school. I'd always thought that the popular people ignored new people like me but the group were in need of someone new; to replace Amelia.

I've seen her a lot in the summer, whether that be shopping trips, fast food outings and we've even, just like Sophie had dreamed of, been on some double dates to fast food restaurants and baseball games.

Pulling up to her porch, I beep the horn, signalling that I am outside.

Sophie appears at the door, her blonde curls bouncing around her shoulders as she gives me a wave and a smile.

Her bikini sits underneath her high waisted shorts and crop top.

"Hey girl!" She says, sitting down in the passenger seat.

"Hey. Are you ready to get your tan on?" I reply in a funny voice.

"I'm so excited! This will be the first time we've done something with Zara. It'll be nice to have a girly day just the 3 of us."

"It'll be great, I feel like we haven't had a chance to get to properly know her yet." I say.

I stare at the road, planning what I'm about to say next in my head so that I don't say it in the wrong way.

"I'm not going to lie, I am a bit suspicious, like this invite was a bit out of the blue?" I say cautiously.

I'd got into a bad habit of losing trust in people over the last couple of years. I don't trust anyone until they give me a reason to trust them and although Zara was a lovely girl, I haven't had a reason to fully trust her yet.

I hope she proves my suspicions wrong.

"I see what you mean but I honestly believe that she has no other intentions. I think she just wants to be nice. Plus her and George have been dating for about 2 months now, I think it's about time us girls became the best of friends." Sophie replies in the sweetest tone.

Sophie is more than likely right but then again she does think the best of anyone.

"Hi girls, come in!" Zara proudly exclaimes.
