Chapter Three

"I'm sorry for bumping into you, by the way" I apologized. "You shouldn't apologize, I told you, it was my fault. How about I buy you coffee, and we can talk, to repay on what I done?" he says. "Um, sure" I said shyly. He got in line and ordered our drinks, while I went to the back and found a seat for us. I sat down in a seat, by the window. Ben came back in a couple of minutes. "Our drinks will be here in a few minutes" he says. "Okay" I smiled at him. "So Jade, I want to get to know you."

"Oh really?" I smirk. "Yea, you seem like an interesting girl".First time a guy ever said that to me. "Well, to start things off, I don't live in London, I'm actually visiting a friend, but I might be living down here." I say. "Oh, so where do you live then?" He asks. "Well, in Florida, I use to live here, but I moved to Florida for college, but I dropped out. I wasn't really happy with college. I wanted to do something that I actually like, then suffer through the miserable years of college." "So, what do you like to do?." "Well, I really love to sing, and a lot of people say that I should start a singing career" I answer. "Do you mind if I could hear you sing?" "No, not at all" I smiled. I started singing a bit a 'This is Gospel" by Panic! At the Disco. After finishing a verse, I felt embarrassed singing it.

"Jade, you are amazing" he compliments. I felt myself blush. "No, I feel like I'm just an amateur" I said putting my head down. "Jade, don't put yourself down. Your voice is beautiful" he says grabbing on to my hand. I looked up at him and smiled. Then they called up our coffee. "Be right back" he says getting up from his seat. I just stared into the air for a while, thinking in my head. Ben seems like a nice and great guy. He's such a gentleman. He's not that bad looking either, with his blonde swept hair, pretty eyes and bright smile. Ben came back with the drinks, handing me mines. "Thanks" I said. After getting our coffee, him and I began talking.

Still talking to Ben, I felt my phone vibrate from my pocket. I took it out and saw ten texts from Dan. I read the first one that popped out.

Dan- Jade where are you?

Dan- Jade reply

Dan- Jade are you okay?

And so forth, him worrying about me. I looked over to the clock to see it was already one, realizing I've been here for at least four hours. I replied back to Dan saying I'm coming back. "Ben, sorry, I have to go, I need to go back to my friend's place" I said. "Um okay, uh do you mind if I walk with you?" "Sure" I said getting up from my seat. We both walked out of Starbucks, continuing our conversation of random crap. Ben is actually a funny, sweet guy, but there isn't anything special about him. He's just a regular guy. He's into sports, has a casual style, all that. He's just I call normal. After our conversation, we made it to Dan's and Phil place. I tried to unlock the door, but it was  lock, and I didn't have the keys to the place, so I knocked on the door.

"Um Jade" Ben whispers. I looked up to him, seeing that we made eye contact. Our eyes were locked on to each other, him flashing a smile. "Yes?" I smiled back. He grabbed my hands. "I really had a great time spending time with you" he whispers in my ear, sending chills down my back. "I d-did too" I stuttered. We stared at each other, him still holding my hand."mmhhmm" I heard someone clear their throat. I turned around to see Dan by the door, looking pissed. I let go of Ben's hand and said my goodbye. He said goodbye and walked off. I slowly turn around, walking in the flat.

"Who the fuck was that?!" Dan asked harshly, slamming the door when I got in. "Just some guy I met at Starbucks, we're just friends" I answer back. "Well it looked more like you guys were 'just friends!" he yells. "And why do you care all of a sudden?!" "Cause! I lo-... Just care about you, and I don't want to see you get hurt again" "Dan, I can take care of my fucking self, I don't need your pity" I snapped throwing my purse across the room. "I'm not pitying on you! I do care about you" he says. "Oh yeah right, so did my dad, but you know where that went!" "Stop being a total bitch!" he yells. That's when I collapsed. I can't believe he said that. I started to tear up, running in his room, slamming the door shut.  I jumped on the bed and began to cry. I covered myself with the blankets, thinking about what just happened. Just why was he being a total jerk? It's not like I did anything wrong. Just hanged out with some guy, and he gets all mad at me. I kept thinking, which led to depressing thoughts. My dad leaving, Josh cheating on me, me being a worthless human being.

I then begin to to cry heavily, making myself have trouble to breathe. I then heard a knock by the door. "Jade, can I come in?" I hear Dan on the other side of the door."No, stay out there, away from me" I groaned. He ignored on what I said and opened the door. I grabbed the blanket and pulled it over my head,  so I won't be able to see him. "Dan, get away! I don't want to talk to you" I yelled. "Jade, I just want to talk" he says, I didn't say anything, I just laid on the bed, with the blankets covering me. Then I felt him go on the bed, him going under the blanket. I see him, so I cover my face with my hands. "Dan, just go" I mumbled through my hands. Dan grabs my hand off of my face. "No, I just want to apologize, for everything that I did. It's just, I don't want to see you hurt. I've been here for you through all of your break ups. It hurts me to see you sad. I just want to protect you." he whispers, squeezing my hand. "Dan.." I said. I thought about it, I was acting rude. I should've at least tell him I was staying out, I could understand him being worried, from my previous relationships. "I'm sorry Dan. I should have at least told you that I was staying out for a little longer. I'm just glad that your in my life. You're always here for me,and I'm just happy that your my best friend." I said hugging him. After that, I let go, pulling the blanket out of my face. I stood up in the bed and walked over to the mirror in his room. I began fiddling with my hair, and wiping the tears that were left on my face. When fixing I see Dan get up walking towards me.He then wrap his arm around my waist, which I didn't mind.

"Jade, you look fine. You don't need to do anything" he says, but then lets go of my waist to fix his own hair. I turn to him. "Same thing to you" I smirked. We made eye contact, our eyes locking on to each other. He smiled, with his adorable dimples of his, and his beautiful brown eyes. He slowly reached for my hand. I looked down and intertwined my fingers with his. Then we heard a knock by the door. We both turn to see Phil. "Uh, hey guys. Addison's here. Just to let you know" he says. I let go of Dan's hand and squealed. "She's here! I can finally meet her!" I squealed out. I then walked out the door, leaving Dan and Phil in the room. I can't wait to finally meet Addison.
