JADE POV
I'm don't know what to do right now. I realize I like Dan, but it's too late, he already has a girlfriend. I'm such an idiot! If I realized sooner, I might've been happier, than waste two years on a douche. I slammed my hand against the table, to release some anger on me. I just need someone to talk to, to not think about Dan. Dan and I will never happen. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket. I unlocked it, pressing the contacts icon. The first name that popped up was Ben. Ben was a good person to talk to, since he doesn't know who Dan is, and won't talk about him. I called him up, after a few rings he picked up.
"Hey Jade" he says
"Hey Ben, I was wondering if you want to hang out right now?"
"Yeah, totally, where should I meet you?"
"At the coffee shop, on Star Road" (Idk made up a street )
"Okay, I'll see you in a couple of minutes"
I hung up and decided on going on Instagram, like always. I go on my profile and scroll down for some of my old pictures that I posted. One picture was with me and one of my college buddie together in our dorm. I keep scrolling, seeing mostly selfies. Then came high school pictures. I start to cringe, hoping there wasn't any bad ones, from my awful teenage years. I regret looking, seeing myself with acne, and glasses. What a total nerd I was. Then I stumble across a picture of Dan and I. Him being cute, with those adorable dimples of his. The time where he was single. The time where I wasted a good two years with a guy. I turned my phone off and slid it across the table. I covered my face with my hands, I felt myself tear up, but I held it in. I just need to face facts. Dan and I were never meant to be. Moments later I felt a light tap from my shoulder, I looked up to see Ben. I hid my frown, and put on a fake smile, like I always do. I got up and gave him a big hug.
He sat down, and we began to chat.
"Hey, are you okay? You seem upset." he asks
"No, I'm fine" I lied, putting on a grin. He then grabbed my hand, intertwining our fingers.
"No your not, I could see it in your eyes. Tell me what's bothering you." he says looking concern.
I really didn't want to talk about this, but he actually knew how I was feeling. I could maybe trust him.
"It's just... I have feelings for my best friend, but he has a girlfriend, I'm assuming. Even though, he doesn't have the same feelings for me. I know this sounds stupid, but this is what I'm dealing with right now." I explained.
"Jade, it isn't stupid, you're dealing with mixed emotions right now. You just need to know that you can't stay in love with the same guy forever, there are plenty other fish in the sea."
"Wow, plenty other fish in the sea?" I giggled
"Just trying to help" he chuckles.
"Thanks"
"No problem"
After that chat, we started to talk about random things. Talking to Ben really helped me get my mind off of things. I'm glad that he was here to help me.
DAN'S POV
"Jade said..... she was going to buy Maltesers behind your back." Phil answered. That's totally what she's hiding from me.
"Phil stop lying and tell me the fucking truth." I said
"Fine, okay, but don't tell Jade I told you."
"Okay, fine whatever, tell me"
"Jade says she likes you.."
I then felt a pure happiness in me. Does this mean we have a chance? Through the many years we've been friends, I can finally have her. I need to make sure she really likes me.
