~Makas pov~
Kid and I meet up at the restaurant and I can tell on his face what he's thinking. Tonight was supposed to be to make him feel better but with his plan to leave me it seems no one is going to have a good time. The dinner was nice and everything would be perfect if he wasn't giving up everything to save me. In this moment I can't even think of Phoenix even with her influence. It's all about us and what is going to happen after we leave tonight. I look for the right time to tell him I know what is going on but it never comes up during the date.
On the way home Kid is quiet and reserved and I can tell he's got something on his mind. I look over to him and he opens his mouth to speak but I stop him before he can say anything, "Kid I know what you're about to say and you're crazy if you think you're doing this alone. I know the risks that are there if I help you defeat her but I don't care. I'd rather fight and die than see you constantly killing yourself over this. You don't have to protect me, I'm a big girl. Besides I'm sure others will be willing to help, it's gonna take more than just you and me to win this war."
As I speak Kid seems thrown off, I guess he wasn't expecting me to fight for this, or maybe he really thought I was clueless about what was going on. He sighs softly and shakes his head, "Maka it's not safe. You can't be around her.... around me. I caused this and I am going to end it."
I just roll my eyes, "You can't stop me. I know everything you've got planned and I want to help. You were right about needing Phoenix, she's definitely got power, but we need others too. I already texted everyone, they're waiting for us at the mansion. We're doing this with or without you."
A smile spreads across his face and he shakes his head, "You are really serious about this aren't you?"
I nod and hug him tightly, "Of course I am. I may be confused about my emotions but I know I care a lot about you and I'm not going to let you die protecting me all by yourself."
The ride after that was short but the feeling in the air was as if the world wasn't so heavy anymore. At the mansion everyone was already inside sitting in the living room waiting for us patiently. We walk in and to my surprise even Phoenix showed up. She runs over to me and her eyes now reveal worry and weakness as opposed to her normal confident and controlled look. She holds my hand, "What took you two so long? You said that you were in danger."
I shake my head, "I am just not directly. Not yet anyways. Everyone have a seat and Kid and I will explain everything. It's going to be a long night...."
