Aden

I WAS not expecting that of the Ghost of Mordar. What I was expecting, was someone who fought back, not a shy little girl who was really kind.

I had known who the Ghost was. Everyone close to the royal family had known that the Ghost was Princess Kiara.

I had found out about my sister when I 'accidentally' eavesdropped on my parents...

Seven Years Ago...

..."Jacob, we have to tell him at some point," My mother fiercely whispered to Father.

"Why? We don't even bloody know if she'll come." He sighed and walked slightly out of my hearing range. "What would we.... he suddenly.... about his sister." I stopped listening after that. Sister? Did that mean Mother was pregnant with another child?

I started running away, though I didn't get very far when I tripped over my feet. They must of heard my crash and came out of their room. "Aden? What are you doing here?" My father helped me up.

I got up and stared at my feet. "Is Mommy having another child?" Father's eyes widened at that. "Sarah! Get out here, now!" He grabbed my arm and started dragging me into his room, tears streaming down my face.

My mother stepped out of the room and motioned us in. "What's wrong?" she asked.

"I think it's time to explain who his sister is." Her eyes widened with shock. I was sat down on one of their chairs. I started to fidget around when they just stood there saying nothing.

Finally  mother spoke up, "I know this is going to be hard on you, but we've decided to tell you what this is all about." Another bout of silence entered after that.

His father sighed and blurt out, "Youhaveatwinsister,Aden." Mother smacked him lightly on the shoulder. "Annunciate dear."

Father rand a hand through his shaggy hair. I've never seen him look this nervous.

Mother began, "Before you were born, we were traveling into a neighboring village. Oracles lived there. Your father and I invited Adeline Fischer to dinner. She was an old oracle from the earlier years."

"As we were eating, Adeline's eye clouded up, and she told a prophecy of what was to come." She told him what it was. "A couple months later, I had Kiara, your sister. The nursemaid had said that there was only supposed to be one, but then you came. I feared the prophecy would come true, so I placed Kiara in a basket, and let her drift down the Algante River. We aren't sure if she survived or not, we haven't seen her since then."

My eyes started watering, and tears streamed down my face once more...

...I still remember the prophecy that was told:

The Dragon Twins of Highmourn will be born. The good female of dark, and the good male of light. Separated at birth, joined at last. A mark on the right hands is when you will have found them. Transformed into the beasts of legends. The Dragon Twins will fight the evils that enter into the midst of Mordar.

The prophecy was becoming true, that I knew. It's just the when that worried me.

Instead of worrying, I went down to the training room.

An arm slung around my shoulders as I walked.

"Rough day?" my friend, Marcus, asked. Marcus and I had been friends since we were little. Marcus had always been there when I was down. Had always felt like a brother to me

"I'm just off to burn out what I'm feeling. Whatever it is I'm feeling," I sighed

"That bad, huh?"

"She's the Ghost of Mordar, Marcus. My twin sister is one of the most wanted thieves in Mordar." I pushed open the doors to the training room.

"I would say I know how you feel, but I don't." Marcus picked up a wooden sword off of the rack.

I picked up mine and shuffled into a fighting stance.

"So are you allowing her to have any weapons?" Marcus asked, going for an uppercut. "I heard the Ghost would steal your soul before you could even blink."

I blocked the blow and aimed low. "She doesn't have any sharp items in her room." I sighed, "Why couldn't have been some common girl? Why'd it have to be the Ghost?" I hit Marcus's ankle.

"Ow!" He bent down and rubbed the bruise that started to form. "Okay, enough of this, I want to go meet this famous Ghost." He grabbed both of our swords and put them up.

We made our way towards Kiara's room, intercepting a servant with a tray of food for her. I knocked on the door, but she didn't answer. I asked the guards to open the door to the antechamber.

"Um, Kiara? I brought some food for you."

"What is it?" I jumped and almost dropped the tray. Luckily, Marcus caught the things that fell.

She had not changed her clothes, and was still wearing that flimsy nightgown. She was holding a tray of what looked like chocolate cake.

"What do you want?" she asked, taking a bite out of the cake.

"I brought you some food, but it seems like you already raided the kitchens." I checked the door handle, and it was locked. "How'd you get out?"

She shrugged, "I have my ways." And that was that. I knew I wasn't going to get anymore answers out of her.

"So you're the famous Ghost of Mordar, huh?" Marcus asked, taking an apple from the tray. "My buddy Aden here says you go by the name of Aldi." She just stared at him.

I coughed, "Well, we brought you food. So we're just going to go now."

Kiara went into her bedroom and shut the door. Taking the cake with her.
