Aden
I STUMBLED forward as I came back to my own self. Marcus caught my shoulders before I fell to the ground.
"Aden! What the bloody hell just happened?"
I held my head in my hands, "I-I think Kiara just used my body to communicate with you."
"So you're telling me that was all real? I wasn't just imagining Kiara telling me that my real father is the Drug Lord of Odin?"
I shook my head in frustration, "She must be in real danger if she was willing to give up that information."
"Are you telling me you already knew that he was my father?"
I shrugged sheepishly, "I didn't know he was your father, but Kiara had told me that Jared was not. I swore not to tell anyone."
Marcus opened his mouth as if he wanted to add something, but he closed it. Then he said, "Kiara said my half brother and Rebecca are alone in a cabin."
"How did Rebecca get there?" I asked.
"She never said. All she told me was that Calvin and Rebecca were in a cabin five miles north of the Gerald Forest."
I started walking towards the stables. "We better get going if we want to find them before dark."
~~~
Rebecca studied the man in front of her. After Kiara had flew off, she and the man, Corbin, had decided to stay at the cabin and discuss a plan of action.
It had been a week since the incident, and they still couldn't decide what to do.
She continued to study Corbin as he ate his dinner. He looked so much like Marcus, albeit with blonde hair, but other than that, she couldn't find any dissimilarities between him and Marcus.
"Find something you like?" Corbin had noticed she was staring.
Without breaking character, she replied, "Did you know Kiara long?"
He choked, apparenlty not expecting that question. "Yeah, she's my childhood friend."
"So you knew her as the Ghost?"
"Why do you want to know?"
"Why are you answering my question with another question?"
He grinned and placed his chin on his hand, "Maybe I just want to know more about you."
Two could play at this game, "Maybe, but from the way you're replying, you're obviously hiding something. I've noticed your left eyebrow raises slightly when you lie. Which means your name isn't really Corbin."
His left eyebrow twitched, "How is it that you know Al- Kiara?"
Though she really didn't use magic for show, Rebecca blew a soft stream of fire through her lips. The mans' eyes widened at the sight.
"H-how did you do that?"
"Didn't Kiara always have stronger physical abilities when she was training with you?"
He didn't even try to cover up, "I had always been stronger and faster than Aldi. She and I always had physical contests. I always won."
That was not something Rebecca was expecting to hear. She assumed Kiara had always had magic.
"So you're telling me the Ghost of Mordar was a weak teenage girl?"
The man slammed his hands on the table, rattling the dishes, and growled, "Aldi was never weak."
Hmm, seems like someone has a childhood crush, Rebecca thought, He really likes her, doesn't he?
She went for a different tactic, "Didn't Kalliarkos recognize you when you and Kiara got caught stealing the tiara?" She watched his face for a reaction.
Sadly, there was none, "Why would Jared Kalliarkos recognize me? I only just saw him that day."
Rebecca rubbed her chin thoughtfully, "Well you-" She paused, and tilted her head to the side. She heard hoofbeats.
Using her detection magic, she reached out to the direction the sound was coming from. It was Aden.
Corbin waved his hand in front of her face, "Earth to Rebecca. What are you listening to?"
She shook her head and jumped out of her chair, rushing to the door. "Looks like our prince has arrived."
