I STILL couldn't believe that Marcus was Draco's son, as I walked down the long hallway leading to Rebecca's classroom. I couldn't believe that Marcus hadn't found out yet.

Dinner was just full of awkward silence and small talk. The queen had tried to get me to answer some questions, and talk to me about my wardrobe choice from lunch, but I completely ignored her and ate my own dinner in silence.

I found Rebecca waiting for me at the end of the hallway.

"Time for your first lesson," she said, as I walked up. "Open this door." This whole castle has been a complete mystery. I'm still shocked that magic even exists.

"Speaking of this 'magic', I have a question." I wanted to ask someone about the dream I had, and I thought Rebecca was the most reliable source.

"I'll answer that question once we're through that door." she pointed to the wall. "There are ears in these walls, and I don't want them listening in."

"Fine. What do I have to do?"

"All you need to do is place the palm of your hand on this rock," she said, gesturing to a small rock, which happened to be in an area where a doorknob would be.

"What about the cutting of the hand?"

She laughed, "No, I just did that to scare you. You don't need to cut anything." I seem to be glaring a lot lately. "Go ahead, try it."

I put my hand on the rock she had gestured, but nothing happened. "Am I doing this correctly?" She laughed again, and pushed me through the wall. I stumbled into the same room from last night.

"How am I able to do that now?" I asked, when she came through the wall. "I couldn't do that yesterday."

She waved me aside and plopped down onto the sofa next to the bookcase. "Okay, first lesson: All royals have magic in their blood. Before you ask, no, I am not a royal, I am just a simple mage."

"Okay..." This whole conversation was really confusing me, but not as confusing as the dream I had last night.

As if reading my thoughts, Rebecca asks, "So, about your thing you had to talk to me about?"

"I had a weird dream last night-"

"Ooh, what type of dream?" she interrupted.

"Can I explain without you interrupting me?" She motioned for me to go on. The excited gleam in her eyes was not at all what I was expecting. Like she knew exactly what I was going to say.

"The dream was about a prophecy-"

"The Dragon Prophecy!"

"You already know it?"

"Of course I know it! Everyone knows it." She recited the whole prophecy to me, word for word.

"Gee, that was a waste of time."

Her blonde ponytail whipped her face as she shook her head. "No, no, no, no. It's okay. I was going to get to this at some point, but since you already know it, I might as well tell you about it."

"The story goes that Queen Sarah and King Jacob Highmourn were out traveling to neighboring countries. Sarah was pregnant with you and Aden at the time." She clasped her hands together and leaned back in the chair. "They visited a place filled with Oracles. As they were dining Adeline Fischer, a very old and wise Oracle, told them that Sarah would have twins. Meaning you and Aden would be the twins the prophecy was talking about." The excited gleam in her eyes returned. I could've sworn they were glowing in the dim light.

"So what does this have to do with me? 'The good female of dark'?" I plopped down on the sofa next to her. "Aden doesn't seem to be getting any special treatment, and he doesn't seem to be having any weird dreams where he's a dragon-like humanoid." I smacked my forehead as realized what I had just said.

Rebecca's eyes lit up even further- which I thought to be impossible, I guess not- and she exclaimed, "You can shift already?"

My eyes widened. "What do you mean, shift?"

The light dimmed from her eyes. "It's the other part of the prophecy: Transformed into the beasts of legend. Which means you should be able to shift into some type of beast that is found to be legendary, which would be dragons."

All of this was too much for me. I got up and walked towards the door. "I've had enough of this nonsense. I believe the part where I'm the princess Kiara, only because of the birthmark, but shifting into an animal? I'm getting out of here." I reached the door, walked through, and ended up in my bedroom. I sighed, frustrated. "Bloody palace."

I layed down on the bed and stared at the ceiling. How did I, the bloody Ghost of Mordar, come to be in a situation like this?

I checked the places where I had stashed things. A butter knife, which had been snuck up my sleeve during Dinner. A couple of gold coins, which were hidden in my corset. And lastly, books that I had somehow hidden in my skirts. I had stolen the books from Rebecca's room, while she was talking about the prophecy. I wanted to find out more about this magic she was talking about, and now I needed to find out about the shifting.

Ugh. There's too much to think about. What I wanted to do right now, was rest. So I curled up in my blankets and attempted to fall asleep.
