The Thief

THE DARK man watched the ladies eat from where he stood in the shadows of the tree. He watched them chatter about the incoming Ball. But he watched one lady closely. The lady with the green eyes and raven black hair.

The dark man watched the green-eyed lady eat. She was not like the other ladies. She had a stillness to her. The way her eyes flickered from woman to woman, able to percept who's suspicious and who's clueless. When she finished her observations of the women, she observed her surroundings.

The area where the dark man was hiding was looked closely at, but he had made sure his person was hidden. He had covered his blonde hair with dirt, making sure that not a speck of blonde was showing.

Soon enough, all the ladies filed out of the room, but the green-eyed lady stayed behind. She walked towards the area where he was hiding, and called out a name.

"Calvin, I know you're there." The man did not move.

When he didn't reply, the lady said, "Calvin, you can't change the truth. Tell Draco to stop trying to find me, he probably knows the truth about my heritage." Still the man did not move.

The lady grabbed a napkin and took a hidden pen out of her skirts. She wrote something on the napkin and slid it under a rock beneath the tree, then she left the room.

The dark man slid down the tree and picked up the note. He grinned evilly.
