TORI
I grabbed a granola bar and my water bottle and right as I grabbed my backpack on my way out to head to school, I heard a knock on the door.
When I opened up the door and saw who it was, I was surprised and shocked. How the hell did this jackass know where I lived? Before I could say anything, he stopped me and demanded for me to meet him out front cause he was gonna take me to school.
As soon as I got into the car he began telling me more like rules in how things are going to be. Which I thought was bullshit, but whatever, I have to remember not to lose my temper.
So after hearing him out and feeling a bit relieved that he wasn't gonna tell anyone that I was a Witch, I felt a little better. That is until he told me that he was gonna avoid any suspicion by dropping me off everyday a block from school and picking me up to take me home as well. He says it was his uncle's idea, which I won't lie, it kind of hurt to know that they both wanted to treat me as though I was an embarrassment to them.
After finally getting to school, I heard the 'late' bell ring and was a little irritated that I was late cause of him but whatever. I won't be here forever. Once I grabbed a late pass to class, I got up to the classroom door and before entering, took in a deep breath and let it out before I decided I wasn't gonna give Max the satisfaction that I was affected by his gesture in dropping me off. So opened the door and walked straight back to my seat without making eye contact with anyone while ignoring everyone's whispers and looks as I sat down.
The teacher looked at me with pity, which I don't want and just took out my notebook and began taking down notes.
After class was over and everyone started walking out, I heard Mr. Aceves call my name.
"Tori? Can I speak with you for a moment?" He asks.
I roll my eyes and turn to look at him. "Yes?" I ask him.
"I don't know how they do it at your old school, but here, I have zero tolerance for being late without a good excuse." He warns me.
"I understand. It won't happen again." I tell him.
"Are you alright?" He asks.
I knew what he meant by that. "Yeah. I just slept in late is all. It won't happen again." I tell him before turning around and heading to my next class.
When lunchtime came around, I had realized that I didn't grab anything for lunch to avoid seeing anyone, I just went to a vending machine that's on the opposite side of the school where hardly anybody ever is and was able to grab a small bag of Cheezit crackers and was trying to grab a honey and ginseng flavored Arizona Green Tea. However, the drink vending machine was of course giving me trouble. So I took a look around me real quick to make sure nobody was around and I was able to move the can with my mind while pointing my finger at it from off the shelf and had it move over towards where I could grab it and as soon as I did, I started to walk away with a victory smile on my face when I suddenly run into someone and the tea ends up spilling all over me.
"Watch where the hell you're going Flabby." I heard Pamela say.
All her friends began laughing while I just tried with everything in me to keep me from hurting her. Why do I have to be like this? Why can't I find a way to control my anger so that I don't react like I did that day.
"Sorry." I say under my breath and start walking away.
"How disgusting." I hear her tell her friends before shouting out loud towards me, "Hey, I heard Jenny Craig needs more spokespeople!"
I quickly head towards the bathroom to dry and get out the tea from my shirt before lunch is over. Luckily I'm wearing a dark purple shirt and not a light colored shirt.
After waiting for half an hour after school at the spot Max was supposed to pick me up at and still wasn't here, I was about to give up until I saw his car driving towards me and right as I thought he was going to stop, he continued to drive really fast past me with Pamela sucking his face as he drove. I should have known. I just call for an Uber to come and get me.

I made it to work with ten minutes to spare, although I had to rush. But as soon as I clocked in and went to the back to put the apron around my waist, I saw Redd out the corner of my eye walk in.
"Hey there. How was school?" He asks with a smile.
"Eh." I shrug my shoulders. "It's school." I tell him.
"Did Max give you a ride to school and then to here?" He asks.
"Yeah. He did." I lie.
He looks at me with uncertainty but just ignores it and has me go out to start my shift.
Throughout the day, things were going alright and I made some decent tips. Then with just a half an hour left until closing, I start cleaning up a little bit as the other waitresses were already heading out, when I hear the doors open up. I looked up and saw who all walked inside and just froze. It was at that moment that I felt like going home early saying I was sick but noticed it was too late when one of the guys from Max's Pack, who looks to be a Beta, saw me and winked. Then as soon as they sat down, they all turned their heads and looked at me, except for Max.
I was getting ready to walk over and hand them menus until I saw Pamela and a couple of her friends come and sit down next to the guys with her of course taking her seat on Max's lap.
I took in a few deep breaths to make sure to calm myself down before I began walking up to them.
"Welcome to Redd's Steakhouse, here's some menus. Can I get you guys anything to drink?" I ask them with my usual smile as I do with other customers.
"I'll take a Pepsi, Root Beer, Iced Tea, Water with a lemon and three cubes of ice (guess who that one was for), a few more Pepsi's." Everyone said when it was their turn.
"Alright. I'll be back with your drinks to take your food order." I tell them.
I refused looking in their direction while I was grabbing their drinks but I could feel a pair of eyes burning a hole in the side of my face. So I continued to ignore it and started carrying the drinks back towards the table to take their orders. I was trying my hardest to make sure I didn't speak with them more than I needed to.
After grabbing a few boxes and bags, I'm startled when I turn and see Max standing just a few feet from me glaring.
"Why did you tell my uncle about today?" He accuses me.
"Relax, I didn't." I snap at him. I don't have time for his bullshit.
"You must have. How else could he have known?!" He asks.
"Look, I didn't tell him what really happened, so don't worry. Here, take these to your pathetic friends and just make sure you pay your tab to your uncle before you leave." I tell him as I shove the boxes and bags into his chest.
He looks at me confused and shocked as I just walked away and left to head back to the guest house.
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
