CHAPTER 12: What Just Happened?

When we get inside the guest house, we take a seat in the living room on the couch before I begin to explain to her what my uncle told me moments before he left. 

"My uncle was telling me that we need to prepare ourselves for in case the ones that took your aunt come after you and...." I began but stopped myself. 

"And what?" She asks me. 

"Well, here's the thing, that necklace you're always wearing, it not only helps control your anger but also, it keeps many of your powers and magical strengths controlled as well. Which we will need if there is a war." I explain. 

"But I can't. I can't risk it." She begins to say panicked. 

"It's okay. I can help teach you to control it." I begin to tell her. 

"But what if you can't and I hurt one of you guys?" She asks concerned. 

"It'll be okay. Trust me, no one knows how to control anger as much as werewolves do. It's one of the first things we learn in training." I assure her. "I promise baby, I won't let anything or anyone ever hurt you." 

She looks at me and thinks a little longer before answering. 

"Okay." She nods her head. 

"Good." I smile at her. "Now, before we go over when we should get started on all of that and before we mention it to everyone, will you go out on a date with me?" I ask her. 

She smiles and nods her head at me. 

"Yes." She replies. 

I smile at her and lean in to give her a long passionate kiss on her soft lips. 

After a few hours pass by, both Tori and I leave to go and see a movie first and then head over towards a restaurant not too far outside of town and then when we finished, before heading back to the house, we walked hand in hand, down the street together. 

"I really have enjoyed tonight." She comments. 

"Me too." I tell her with a smile. 

We stop walking and look at each other for a moment and right as I cupped her face and slowly began to move in for a kiss, we were interrupted by one of my least favorite Alpha's. 

"Hey there, Max." The guy says. 

I quickly step in front of Tori and put her behind me. 

"Nielson." I say under my breath. "What the hell are you doing here?" I asked. 

"I heard you were hitting on my mate." He smirks as he nods behind him and of course, his mate had to be Pamela. 

"Yeah well, I didn't know she was your mate, first of all and second of all, she's the one that's been trying to get with me when I too have my own mate." I point out to him. 

He starts eyeing Tori up and down and I can tell he was making her uncomfortable as she squeezed onto my arm a little tighter. 

"Unless you'd like to lose your eyes I suggest you stop eyeing my mate." I warn him. 

He looks at me and smirks. 

"You and I have some unfinished business." He tells me. 

"No we don't. You left after getting caught by the Wolf Council." I remind him. 

"Because you left. Like a bitch, you ran away and I was left with the punishment." He says. 

"So what? It was your choice. Excuse us." I said as I wrapped my arm over Tori's shoulders and started walking past him. He stops us with his hand. 

"I don't think so. Like I said, we've got some unfinished business." He repeats with a grin. 

"Not here." I tell him. 

"Oh but I think it's the perfect time." 

The next thing I know, he lunges towards me, causing us to fall back onto the ground and start rolling around on the ground, punching each other and continue rolling until we end up rolling into the woods that's behind us. 

I throw in several blows to him more than he does for me and then while he rolls over on top of me and starts hitting me, I hear Tori scream and then notice off to the side, Tori is on the ground with Pamela is standing above her holding her necklace. 

I then notice Tori's hands begin to turn blue until it looked as though her hands were on fire and she looked pissed. Holy shit! Was all I could think of saying. Her eyes turned all black and then she looked at me and quickly stood up, making all of us look at her, including Pamela, in horror. 

I heard Tori yell loudly as I saw her throw a ball of fire at Pamela, causing her to be thrown back in the air several feet and landing on the ground hard. 

She then looked over at me and Nielson who was still looking at her, surprised. Then I saw her glaring at Nielson and threw a fire ball at his chest causing him to fly back in the air several feet just as Pamela did and hit the ground hard. 

He quickly got up and looked at her while holding his chest and wincing in pain. 

"It can't be. You're....you're a....a witch!" He says before running off. 

When I look back over at Tori, I have to admit that I'm a little bit afraid because I don't feel like it's her. Her eyes are all back and her hands are on fire, literally, yet her skin is not harmed or burned. She's breathing in and out, looking at me while it seems like everyone else has run off. 

"Baby?" I cautiously begin walking towards her not knowing what's going to happen next and if rather or not she's going to kill me. "Baby, it's alright, it's me, Max." I continue to try and soothe her as I cautiously continue approaching her until I'm finally close enough to reach her. To which I carefully touch her arm and then I notice her eyes begin to widen and her eyes going back to normal while her hands go back to being normal and there are no more flames. She then collapses and I catch her right before she hits the ground. She has passed out. 

What the hell just happened? And why didn't my uncle tell me it gets this bad?
