CHAPTER 7: I Know.....

I can't believe he came at me like that! Besides, what the hell was he doing eavesdropping on me?!

I'm not sure what to do exactly but I'm sure once Redd hears about this, he'll kick me out for sure.

"Tori, are you in there?! It's Redd." I hear him say while knocking.

"Just a minute." I reply as I walk over and open the door.

"Can I talk with you?" He says.

"Of course." I reply while he came inside.

"I'm not going to stay long, I just wanted to talk to you about something." He began.

"Okay." I reply nervously.

"I want to apologize for my nephews behavior towards you. There's no excuse and I want you to know though that he'll come around and if him or anyone else gives you shit, you come straight to me and I will straighten them out." He winks at me.

"Thanks." I nod in agreement.

"Also, your aunt told me about your parents death and I want you to know that you're not to blame and that you aren't the only one who has let their anger take control causing a tragedy. When I was eighteen years old, my mate and I were having an argument with each other about something, I don't remember what. However, my ego and pride got the best of me and I snapped. My anger had built up so much that I ended up slashing her throat with my claws." He stops himself as he looks away for a moment while trying to hold back some tears before continuing.

"I killed my mate. My heart. My love and my soul. I begged the Moon Goddess for forgiveness and even though she did she also did not forget. So she made sure that I would never find another mate. My punishment was to remain mate less for the rest of my life. Which is fine because I deserve it." He finishes as he chokes up at the end.

"It wasn't your fault. You were young and your hormones along with everything else mixed was the cause of that. I'm sure that your mate knew you didn't mean it and still knows just how much you love her." I tried reassuring him.

"So, anyways, I'm gonna go and tonight, you will have the night off from work. I will try and talk with Max and try to work harder on his egotistical ass." He smiles and winks at me.

"Okay." I chuckle as I stand up, wipe my tears and then we walk up to one another and give each other a hug.

"If you ever need anything, you know how to contact with me." He smiles.

"Thanks." I smile.

I took in a deep breath as I made my way onto the school grounds and started walking down the hallways towards my locker all while ignoring the glares and whispers.

After getting to my locker, I begin trying to put some books into my messenger bag for my next few classes when suddenly my locker door slams shut and my earplugs are yanked out of my ears.

I turn to see who had the nerve to do that and I see that it's Pam. My god, she makes my skin crawl she is so disgusting.

"Surprised you made it to school, druggie." She says.

"Give me back my earbuds please." I ask, ignoring her comment.

"You think you can just come up in here and embarrass my Alpha, his uncle and his pack by doing that?! Bitch you better know your place!" She fires at me.

"How do you know your Alpha saw what he saw? Maybe he was too drunk or distracted by some annoying bitch, that he couldn't think straight?!" I grinned in my head.
