CHAPTER 21: I Fear It's Too Late

A few days go by and I was able to find a few other sorcerers and a few witches to help us out. I assured both Tori and Max they would arrive tomorrow. 

While I was looking for people to help us out, I also was able to ask my friend who was still at the house with my stepdad, keeping me informed with any information that he finds out that would be helpful for me to use against him. 

"Hey Leroy." I greet him in the middle of the woods. 

"Hey Cedric." He greets me in return. 

"So, you said that you found something." I cut right to the chase. 

"Yeah but, I don't want you to freak out." He begins to tell me. 

"Just tell me." I tell him. 

"Atlantes is almost done with fully possessing Tori." He explains. 

"That's impossible." I protest. 

"I thought so to but, I also heard him talk to the guy about her parents and something about how when she was little." 

"Tori told me that the day her parents died, she saw him in the corner of the room. But he never has been close enough to her to have marked her or anything." I tell him although I'm not really sure. 

"Well, you need to try and find out soon because if he has marked her than it'll be more difficult to take him down." He explains. 

"But if she had his marking, wouldn't that mean Max would have noticed or have not been able to mark her?" I ask. 

"Not necessarily. To most wolves, the marking can be hard for them to see. In fact, to them, it could look like a birthmark. And as far as Max could still mark her but, that would not be good at all." 

"What do you mean?" 

"Because he's an Alpha, he can mark her even if she has a demon's marking. But then that means he can also take away all of Max's abilities and powers including his strength." 

"Oh my god." I say under my breath. 

"Now I need to get back. But find out if she has the marking and if so, you have to inject her with this." He says as he pulls out two syringes filled with light blue and green liquid. "Inject her with these but also make sure that you say this mantra as well:

Powers of the North, Guardians of the Earth, I ask for your help in my time of need. I ask that you banish all evil/negativity from thee. This home, family, her soul, and life, please surround her with your ever loving light. The name of Old Ones, The Ancients, the Sun, Moon, and Stars, by the power of the Earth, Air, Water, Fire, and Spirit, I banish any and all evil and negativity from her. So Mote it Be, Amen.

"Okay." I reply. 

"Alright, I'll let you know if I hear anything else and finally, good luck." He tells me before leaving. 

I can't believe it has all gotten this bad and that my best friend and most important person in my life, her life is in danger. Sure I have a solution but it isn't permanent. It's just going to last long enough for her to distract him but I'm still scared shit-less. 

The moment I got back to the house, I saw some people were in the living room and when I saw Reece, he looked worried and freaked out, just like everyone else. 

"There you are." Reece says as he jumps up off the couch and walks up to me. "Did you get anyone to agree to help us?" He asks. 

"Yeah. They'll be here tomorrow morning." I tell him. 

"Okay, good." He says. 

"Where's Max and Tori?" I ask him. 

"Max is upstairs with Tori. She almost became possessed again and he had to knock her out." He hesitates. 

"Oh my god." I start to panic before hurrying up the stairs and into their bedroom. 

Once I got to the door and opened it up, I saw Max sitting beside Tori on the bed as she was laying down and passed out. He turns and looks at me before getting up. 

"Hey." He says quietly. 

"Hey." I reply. "I am sorry that I'm late but I met up with my friend moments ago on my way back here."

"It's fine. Did you find people to help us?" He asks. 

"Yes I did. But we're running out of time and my friend told me I needed to do something that could possibly help Tori from becoming possessed. Just for a little while." I say. 

I explain to him about what my friend recently told me and about the syringes and what's in them. Max stays quiet for a moment until finally, he gives me the 'okay' to go ahead and inject her with the stuff. So I nervously pull them out of my pocket, inject her with it and before I am able to inject a drop of it in her, I see her eyes open up and it's too late. Her eyes go all black and she quickly throws me off of her, causing me to hit the wall hard and fall to the ground. Then Max tries to hold her down but she does the same with him and right as we hear the guys from downstairs start to run up into the room, she quickly jumps out of the window landing on both her feet and then sprinting off into the woods. 

That can mean only one thing, she's possessed fully and she's heading towards Atlantes' house right now.
