CHAPTER 19: It Wasn't Your Fault

**FYI: I renamed Relic to the name Reece. So just so that you all aren't confused in who it is. Relic is now named Reece.**

I'm not sure in what exactly happened other than I went down into the basement to see Cedric and the next thing I knew, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my head and stomach, then it felt like I came out of my body and nothing but darkness consumed me and it almost felt like I had blacked out because that's all that I remember. 

However, when I open my eyes after being in what felt like a long deep sleep, I notice Reece, sitting in the chair, looking through his phone by the side of the bed. He see's me awake and quickly jumps out of the chair and starts calling out for Max.

"Ow. Please, don't yell." I wince. 

"Sorry, Luna. It's just that I'm so happy to see that you are awake." He smiles at me. 

"What happened?" I asked. 

Then I see both Max burst through the door and rushing to my side on the bed and holding me. 

"Thank god you're awake. I was so worried baby." He says. 

"It's okay." I try and assure him and then I notice there's a dark hand print around his neck. "What happened to your neck?"

"Oh, it's nothing." He tries to tell me as though it's not a big deal. 

"No big deal? Alpha she fucking choked your ass." Reece laughs. 

"What?" I asked in disbelief while looking at Max. 

"It's okay, it wasn't really YOU doing it, it was....." He stopped after being interrupted by Cedric who I saw come walking in through the door. 

Suddenly flashbacks in what happened begin going through my head and I clung to Max terrified of Cedric while stops midway. 

"I'm so sorry Tori." He says while looking down at the ground. 

"Baby, it's okay." Max tries to assure me as he pulls apart a little bit to look into my eyes. 

"No it's not, he's possessed and...." I started to rant but was stopped by Max. 

"I know but Tori, it's not his fault. He tried saving you in fact." He started. 

"What are you talking about? He somehow made possessed by sending over whatever spirit or entity was in him." I tried to explain to Max. Why the hell is he defending him?

"Look, Tori..." Cedric begins to explain. "I know that this probably doesn't make any sense and that you probably have even lost trust in me, in which I understand, but I need for you to know that I didn't mean to possess you. I am not at that level yet and the only way that could have happened was from Atlantes." He says. 

"But how is that possible? I haven't seen him nor talked with him." And then I stopped myself as soon as I began remembering my recent dreams that I've been having. "Oh my god." 

"What?" Max asks me. 

"Cedric? Can Atlantes harm me in my dreams?" I ask him. 

"It's possible. However for this particular possession, there's only a couple of way it could have happened and neither way was from me." He tells me. "One way is if you became his and he claimed you for his own. Which we all know that's not possible, or you were marked." 

"But how and when could I have been marked?" I asked. 

"I've been doing a lot of research and I've come across some things. Remember when you had told me that your parents died in a fire that you still think is your fault?"

"Yes." I replied with a nod. 

"It wasn't your fault. He was there, right? You saw him through the flames in your room before your parents came in and got you out?!" He recalls. 

"Yeah but, I didn't see him before then." 

"Well, there's a reason why he's after you in particular." He hesitantly says. 

"Why?"

"Because you're his daughter." He tells me with guilt on his face. 

"What?" Me, Max and Reece all say in unison. 

Cedric walks over towards me and hands me a file folder that has pages of things, including my real birth certificate. 

"Here." He says while handing it to me. "In that folder, you'll find all the proof you need that he's your father. Your stepfather was the one your mother was married to and had you call him your dad because...." He stops himself for a moment. 

"Because?" I ask nervously. 

"Because Atlantes raped your mom." 

The room went dead silent to where you could hear a pin drop. It was starting to get uncomfortable. 

"So my real father was-is Atlantes?" I asked surprised and yet, disturbed. 

"Yes." He nods. 

"Holy shit, I'm a monster." I say under my breath. 

How could this be? Why couldn't my mother not have ever told me about this? So wait, now, I'm half demon too? It's no wonder he wants me. He's right, my abilities that come with being a demon and then being a witch on top of it can be very threatening and powerful.
