"I was born on March 13th, 1986. I have two brothers, both older than I. Avery and Alex. Both my parents were the band directors for 5th through 12th grade.
When I reached high school I was focused on art and music. One Thanksgiving an unforgiving aunt told me that I would never succeed with what I wanted to do. So Sophomore year I changed my classes to every math and science class I hadn't already taken in eighth grade and freshman year, I even dropped choir. That really shocked my family, even Alex who had already graduated high school. My mom and dad pulled me aside at the end of the school year and asked me why I had done such a thing. I told them about the aunt and they told me not to listen to her. So when I went into my junior year I had gone back to all my art and music classes, even choir.
In my junior year I really only had one friend, her name was Mikayla. She was listening to a song that sounded interesting on her MP3 and I wanted to know what it was. She told me it was a band called Fall Out Boy, so I asked her if I could have a listen, she said yes. So I played a song called Grand Theft Autumn and I was amazed. The guitars, the drums, the vocals. It was all amazing to me. From that day on I kept listening and was thrilled when I got to go to a concert in 2003. In college I met a friend named Sean, he played drum set. He and I played together for a long time. In my junior year of college I graduated because I really didn't need to go anymore. I then saw Panic! at the Disco for the first time. I was kinda shocked at how young they seemed. Later that same year, they needed a bass player because something happened to John so I called them and asked if the place was still available. They said yes and I got to meet them all.
I toured with Panic! When they needed and even got to tour with My Chemical Romance when Bob left.
But during those times, I had been making my own album. Sean and a few of his buddies had helped me and we formed a small group. Sean, Kaleb, Liam and I. All together in my basement almost 24/7. We published the album ourselves, no record deal.
That album came out to be Neon Smoke." I said. I stayed quiet, letting Patrick realize what I had said. He sucked in a sharp breath. "You're Ashton Jae, aren't you? The famous BlueJae who then disappeared?" He asked with shock in his eyes. I nodded. "I gave bands like yours, Gerard's, Tyler's, and Brendon's a run for their money. I even challenged Soul Punk. We split because both Kaleb and Liam had other things they wanted to do, and Sean and I knew we couldn't produce an album as good as Neon Smoke with just the two of us.
It's been a while since I've talked to Liam and Kaleb, but I still talk to Sean, in fact, he lives only twenty minutes from me." I smiled.
"Then why'd you come back and join Fall Out Boy when you could easily make music yourself?" He asked. "I knew if I came back my appearance would be looked down upon, I had disappeared for four years without an explanation and had come back with an album that was made only by me. I can't bear that pressure, so I took the chance when you guys said you needed a guitarist." I rubbed my arms.
Patrick nodded in understanding. "So your full name is Ashton Jae Pines?" He asked. I nodded. "I didn't release my full name back then because my mom asked me not too, so I didn't." I explained. Patrick chuckled. "Just for your mom, huh?" He asked. I smiled. "I actually listen to my mom still, I know it's funny." I laughed. There was a silence. It seemed to get colder on the bus right then. I shuddered. Patrick took note and grabbed the blanket he had used earlier and laid it on me. I thanked him before he returned to his laptop, he was actually on Twitter. I smiled at him and looked at his screen. He was reading all my tweets. I chuckled lowly and shook my head. He looked at me. "What? I might as well catch up on what I missed." He shrugged. I laughed again before going quiet. It was in that moment that I realized how truly tired I was. I rubbed my eyes and sucked in a deep breath. Right then, I think Patrick heard my heavy breath, he scooted closer to me and let me lean on him. I did and closed my eyes, I then heard his heartbeat, it was a little fast for what I considered normal, but other than that it was fine. He  was also warm, unbelievably warm. I smiled into the soft cotton of his hoodie that he was wearing.
A few minutes later he closed laptop and set it on the table. Surprisingly, he didn't leave me there, cold and alone. He came back in some sweatpants and another, bigger, blanket and leaned against the edge of the couch, pulling me up against him. He draped the bigger blanket over the both of us, letting me still be wrapped in the tiny blanket. He was even warmer than before, plus we were closer. "Goodnight Ashton, I love you." He said, not knowing that I wasn't asleep. Then a thought hit my mind like a ton of bricks. 'Oh my god, I like Patrick Stump, and he likes me.' Then mummbled the words back. "Love you too." Before promptly falling asleep.
