The new year came in with a bang, and with a happy family if you could call it that. Allie was happy with Patrick, as was I, and treated him like any other member of the Pines family or almost any member of Panic! at the Disco.

Tour finished and we were all constantly working in our own studios in our own homes, and would face time occasionally to share ideas for the upcoming album. Over the course of this break, Patrick moved into my house, since it was bigger, and brought all his equipment with him. I got rid of some of my guitars, wether it was giving them to Sean to sell in his store, or mailing them to Kerrang! or another magazine. I kept three electric guitars, and my Stump-O-Matic, my two acoustic guitars, and one bass. Patrick had to get rid of some of his instruments too, but kept his piano, which I made room for. He did ask me to paint his piano, but not as crazy as I had painted mine. I did just a simple black and white Art Deco design that he liked and said it reminded him of the art style of the Roaring Twenties.
I was going through some of my old notebooks from when I was my own musician and found some completed songs that I still had demos for, so I took a few of the notebooks down to the studio and started searching for the demos.
I found a few, but I wasn't happy with them, but then I found one that I liked. Hold Me Tight or Don't was an acoustic track I made a long time ago and I liked, but never got around to actually playing live or publishing.
I grabbed my acoustic and sat down in the booth before plucking out the appropriate chords, and checking the words. I started to play and sing, I would occasionally mess up but that's just what happened when you don't touch up on something since 2011.
I finished and rewrote some things before trying again.
Later that day I texted Pete and told him I had something for the new record.

Peteza Guy: sweet! We'll face time tomorrow, then we can all have a listen

Ash: sweet, see ya then

Peteza Guy: bye ashtooooooooon

I set my phone down and smiled. I put my guitar away and saw Patrick at his piano.
"Nice song, did you write it?" He asked while aimlessly pushing down keys. "Yes, a long time ago. Thought I could put it on the record." I said before walking over to my piano and sitting down. "Pete might change it a bit, you know that, right?" He questioned while cocking an eyebrow. "I know, but whatever he changes it has to go through me first." I stated. He nodded before standing up and placing a kiss on my forehead and taking me by the hand.
"We should go to bed, it's late." He said while we walked hand in hand up to our room.

The year went on smoothly, we had put our record together, and we were still working on it a week before the release date. Pete then decided to push it back to January to save us all the trouble.
When January did come, there was a release party that we all had to go to, which was in Chicago, so I dropped off Allie at my mothers house and Patrick and I drove up North to the lake shore city.
When we got there, there was still time to kill so Patrick and I went out for pizza and our favorite pizza joint in Chicago and got deep-dish pizza, because what else would you get in Chicago?
Afterwards we checked into our hotel room and started to get ready. The name of the new album was MANIA, and the theme was purple, courtesy of Patrick.
For this event, the dresscode was very formal, and normally I would wear a suit like the boys, but I decided to wear a dress for the first time while I was with this band.
It was a dark purple dress, that looked like it was from the fifties, and I put it with some black Victorian boots. I let my hair stay curly instead of straightening it, and did some makeup to go with everything. By the time I was done, so was Patrick, and we were ready to go.
I walked out of the bathroom and checked everything, and when I looked up at Patrick he was staring at me in awe. I blushed and walked over to him and straightened his fedora.
"We should go 'Trick." I said with a smile. He broke out of his trance and nodded before taking my hand and walking out the door.

Many people stared at me at the party, which I wasn't used too but was okay with. When Patrick and I finally found the boys it was time to play a few songs off the record.
I strapped up my guitar, which proved to be tougher in a dress, and walked on stage. Andy looked weird in a suit, but we rolled with it and played some songs off of MANIA.
We played a few songs before we were able to roam around the party. I immediately started to look for the new bassist for Panic!, since Dallon left over the holidays. Eventually I found her and figured out a few things about her. Her name was Nicole Row, and she had previously played for Miley Cyrus. We chatted for a bit before I went on the hunt to find some other people I knew.
I was randomly walking around when I bumped into someone almost half a foot taller than me. When I looked up, I was surprised by who it was. It was Gerard Way.
I instantly wrapped him in a bear hug, as he did with me.
"Gerard! I didn't know you were here." I exclaimed before letting go. "Pete invited me, and plus, you've made a name for yourself again missy." He smiled while ruffling my hair. He stopped and then smirked. "So, you and Patrick?" He asked. "Yeah, it's been great." I smiled. We talked for a bit, catching up on things.
"Well, I'm glad I got to talk to you again Ashton." Gerard said before hugging me again. I wrapped my arms around himz "Likewise, see ya Gee." I said before disappearing into the crowd.
I was surrounded by people, and I couldn't see over them because I was too short, but then someone grabbed me by my wrist and pulled me towards them. Luckily, it was Patrick. I laughed as he wrapped his arms around me.
"I was looking for you everywhere! I got worried." He complained. "Sorry, I was meeting the new bassist for Panic! And I saw that Gerard was here." I explained. Suddenly, the music changed, and the sound of Heavens Gate started to play.
We slow danced and it felt like the entire world had stopped just for us. Well, it seemed like it was time, but in reality the dance floor had cleared a lot.
At the end of the song Patrick let go of me and got down on one knee, and opened a small velvet box. I stopped breathing.
"Ashton, every since I met you I thought you were absolutely amazing. And it would be amazing, miss Ashton Jae Pines if you would be my wife and become missus Ashton Jae Stumph." He said, looking at me with shining. By then I was almost to tears and I nodded vigorously. He stood up and kissed me while the crowd cheered and clapped.
We stopped so Patrick could slide the ring on my finger. It was a simple band with a small black opal in the center. I looked at it in awe. "It's beautiful Patrick." I whispered. "I'm glad you like it ma chérie." He whispered back.
"I love you Patrick." I said while wiping my tears away.
"I love you too Ashton."
