After some days of waiting for news, the doctors tell us all surgeries were successful. "The patient is still exhausted, and very likely sore. The damage she took is very concerning. If you have any questions, you can ask them now." Everyone is silent, as if we are all still holding our breath. The doctor nods, and I whisper a small thank you. The doctor reaches out and twists the door handle to the room Sayori is in. The door swings open silently, and I take a few small steps forward.

The body lying on the bed hardly looks like her. There are tubes everywhere; IV ports, heart monitors, a nasal oxygen cannula, some stuff I don't even recognize. Her blood pressure is low, her breathing is labored... her face is grey, and when I reach out and grab her hands, they're cold. I feel my eyes well up with tears, and Natsuki puts a hand on my shoulder. "She's still alive. She'll recover. But if we wait, we might let another girl become a victim of Monika's wrath." Yuri speaks softly. My chest collapses on me, and the tears manage to slip down my face. I don't want to leave her here, to wake up in a cold ugly grey room and no one by her side. I reach up and brush away my tears. I nod my head and finally manage to rip my eyes away from her. Yuri pats me on the shoulder, and it's a comforting gesture. We open the door, and exit as quietly as we entered.

Together, we wander out to a courtyard. I sit down, and the girls grab onto my hands. We have our weapons ready. I concentrate, and we are no longer in the courtyard. We are in the empty classroom I remember from my play through's before I got here. It seems so long ago now. Monika has a completely blank face, but it seems we have caught her off guard. Natsuki reacts quickly, drawing her sword and managing to slash into Monikas arm. Monika cries out, but immediately strikes Natsuki. Natsuki flies backwards, crashing into some random desks and chairs. I draw my sword and swipe for her face. She dodges, and a sword appears in her hand. I'm caught off guard by this, but manage to jump out of the way before I can be impaled. The now familiar feeling of my blood warming surges through me. Yuri looks at me and gasps, but Monika simply raises her sword. Her eyes seem to be glowing but suddenly I realize they are. It almost appears as if a ribbon of green is swirling around her body. I look down to find a similar sight on myself, but the ribbon is red. Her eyes flash, and she begins to approach me. I raise my sword. This time I am ready. This time I will do it. This is for Sayori. For Natsuki. For Yuri. For their families and friends. For everything good. She deserves this. "But does she?"

The thought shakes me. She hurt the entire world in this universe, but does anyone deserve death? If I do not kill her she will kill me and this universe will suffer even more. I freeze up. Monika is getting closer. I close my eyes, and raise my sword to block the blow. She laughs, perhaps realizing she may win.

 I take a breath in.

 I hear a gasp.

 I open my eyes.
