The rest of the week had been a bit frustrating, a constant argument between the doctors and our group of... friends? We all wanted to get out of the hospital as soon as possible to discuss battle plans and strategy but we couldn't just discuss that publicly. Unfortunately, due to the major damage inflicted upon Sayori and Monika, they were recommended to stay at least three more days.
Sayori was growing restless just lying around helplessly, and often made me go on long walks to the hospital courtyard just to get away from the bland room she had been resting in. As the wait number becomes smaller, Sayori's patience starts to wear thin. I walk her out to the courtyard, hoping it will help. We sit down on a bench under a beautiful blooming sakura tree, and as the petals blow gently in the wind she leans her head onto my shoulder. I grab her hand and lace our fingers together. "I don't expect an exact answer for this, and you don't have to tell me anything but.... why are you so anxious about getting out of here? What's going on?" I ask her in a gentle voice. Her eyes dart from me to the tree and back. She takes a breath in and squeezes my hand gently. "The longer we stay, the more danger we put the other patients into. We have to start preparing for the monster we are truly facing." She loosens her grip on my hand and I sigh. She shouldn't have to deal with all this after everything she's been through. As though she read my thoughts, she reaches up and grabs my chin, pulling my face to hers. Her eyes pour into mine. "I'm going to be okay as long as I have you with me." she whispers. I lean my forehead against hers and melt into a blissfully passionate kiss. The world feels right when I'm in this moment with just her, and nothing else exists.
I open my eyes and gasp, causing Sayori's eyes to dart open. We aren't in the courtyard anymore. We're in Sayori's room. I must have accidentally used my ability to teleport while I was so distracted. She runs over to her bed grabbing her small, soft, pink blanket. The room is a bit chilly and dark, and it looks like it's been left untouched since we departed. I rub my hands over some of the stuffed animals on her bed, and her face flushes red. I chuckle and grab her hand to pull her closer. She lets me, and leans into my chest. "Is that all you want from here? You know the girls are already gonna freak out when they found out we left, so the sooner we get back..." She nods her head as I trail off softly. The slight sunlight slipping into the room shines on her face and she glows. I've never seen a more beautiful sight in my whole life, and it's almost frightening how much love I feel for this one specific person, but... also refreshing in a way. There's never a boring day when she's in it. I feel my face begin to burn up and Sayori laughs quietly, reaching up and grabbing my face and pulling us together in a slow, passionate kiss. She runs her fingers through my hair and I tilt her face, enjoying this brief moment of just being here with her. We both pull back gently, and I teleport us back to the hospital courtyard. She carries her folded up blanket with her until we get to Monika's room.
Monika is awake, and I briefly notice that she's holding Yuri's hand. Natsuki's eyes dart between the blanket and Sayori's hand intertwined with mine. She doesn't say anything but it almost looks like there was a small amount of... Jealousy? I squeeze Sayori's hand and we walk up to Monika's bed. Girl rubs her hand on Monika's shoulder very gently to comfort her. "Hey guys." Monika says very gently.
"Hey. We have a lot to discuss." I murmur.
