Taehyung—

I ended up calling Jungkook, instead. Well, Mr. Lee did. I just held up the hand that the younger had scribbled his number on, before we left the hospital. Mr. Lee touched the slim surface of the phone into my palm, and waited for me to close my fingers around the object, and hold it to me ear, before leaving the room.

Fretting around worriedly, I wondered if maybe Jungkook's phone might've died. Or maybe something bad must've happened. Is he with his mom? What was going on? Finally, the younger picked up on the eighth ring, with a strained greeting. "Kookie?" I spoke, softly. "You alright?" I heard a sob crack on the other line, making me knit my eyebrows together, in concern. "Jungkook?" It took a moment before he could get it together and respond to me. "T-they said she's fine, Tae," he whispered, hoarsely. "They said she'll live. They a-asked me a bunch of questions, like if she was ever abused, and I told them honestly. I hope the cops can get my dad in jail, Tae. I really hope so."

Sighing, in relief, I felt a small smile raise up on my lips. "Do want to come home and stay with me, Kookie?" A loud sniff crackled through the phone, "can I?" I giggled, gently, "of course you can, pabo. I'll come pick you up in ten minutes, okay?" The younger replied with a small yes, and hung up the call. I heard footsteps enter my room after a few minutes, and tilted my head up, to the sound, knowing that it was Mr. Lee. "Let's go pick him up," I smiled, slightly, raising a hand up, so he could help me to my feet.

"As you wish, sir."

The elder man carefully led me back outside, to the car, and helped me inside the vehicle, before walking around back to the front, and slipping into the driver's seat. The car ride was silent, to say the least, which bored me out of my mind. I had nothing to think about, no vision to watch the scenery pass by, and nothing to talk about. I opted for fiddling with my fingers, finding no other options.

Thankfully, the ride wasn't too long, and we were at the hospital in under eight minutes. I felt the car bounce a little when it stopped, and unbuckled my seatbelt. I waited for Mr. Lee to come round, and open my door and help me out of the car, but when a minute passed, I frowned. "Is there something wrong, Mr. Lee?" I asked, sitting up straighter.

"Not a problem, really," the elder man replied. "But, I do have a question." Raising my eyebrows, I tilted my head, and told him he could ask his question. "What is Jeon Jungkook to you, sir?" The question shocked me, since I didn't think that the old man would ask me something like that. It wasn't really his business to, really.

I decided to answer anyway, not seeing any harm in doing so. "He's special," I admitted. "At first I thought he was just going to be some brat that I'd be stuck with for the rest of the year, and that I'd demand for someone new the next year."

I smiled, when I thought about all those moments I caught the younger just being himself. "But, eventually I began to know him, and now...I don't know...he's different than everyone I've ever met in my life."

There was a long pause of silence, before Mr. Lee spoke again. "It sounds like you like him, sir." There was a hint of playfulness in the elder man's voice, causing me to scowl. "Whether I like him or not is not your concern, Mr. Lee," I grumbled. "Now, can we go and get him?" Mr. Lee chuckled, as he unbuckled his seatbelt. I heard the dinging of the car, as he got out of the driver's side, and went to open my door. I held up my arm, like always, and let him pull me out of the car, and onto my feet.

"Why were you so curious anyway?" I asked, as we walked up to the front of the hospital. "Hmm, I don't know," Mr. Lee sighed. "It's just that...I've never seen you so happy before. Sure, you've always been all sunshine and rainbows, but now...you seem to be living. You're alive." I smiled, softly, at his response, "perhaps you're right, Mr. Lee." The elder man chuckled, lightly. "Perhaps I am."
