Drowning

Chapter 39

Skye's P.O.V

I woke up before Sousuke and began to get ready. I hopped in the shower, taking a quick and cold one so I'd wake up and wouldn't waste his time or hot water, and defogged the mirror. I widened my eyes in panic to see that there was a large, dark bruise on my eye and cheekbone. Half my eye was black and still a bit swollen. I quickly grabbed my makeup bag and covered every inch of darkened skin, hoping no one would notice. I managed to mostly hide the black eye and split in my lip. Last night it hadn't been very noticeable, however, now that the blood was dry and scabbed over it was evident. I left the bathroom and Sousuke began to get ready.

"Good luck at the relay today." he said when he came out

"Thanks," I smiled at him "We're practicing all day. It's our first home game. Can't really believe it since we're so late in the year."

"Hell it's hot!" I whined as I came back from finishing the race

"You look like your face is melting." Nova joked while congratulating me on winning

"Here." Seijuro said and passed me a towel

I wiped my face and everyone looked at me in shock. I could see Seijuro balling his fists in anger.

"Who did this to you?" he growled "I'll kill him!"

I looked at the towel in horror, realizing I had accidentally taken off my makeup since I was sweating so much.

"Nii-chan relax." I begged "Please, he didn't mean it. Rin just lets his emotions get out of hand sometimes. It's not like-"

"Rin did that?!" he cut me off, before turning to find him.

He was and the swim club were walking up with the Iwatobi boys. Seijuro ran over to Rin and punched him hard across the face. My eyes widened and I rushed to pry him off of Rin.

"Nii-chan!" I screamed "Stop! It was just a stupid fight! It doesn't even hurt that bad!"

I continued to pull at Seijuro but some of the swim team members were able to do it for me, though it did take four of them.

"What the hell man!!" Rin yelled at Seijuro, holding his bloody and broken nose.

"You got some nerve asking that considering what you did to my sister!!" he fumed and tried to get in another punch but stopped when I stepped in front of Rin to block him from Seijuro

Just then both swim teams noticed my split lip, black eye, and bruised cheek. Knowing he couldn't attack, Ash peed on Rin and growled to show his hatred towards him. I lowered my head.

"It's fine." I said quietly "Besides, he'll be gone soon enough anyway."

"What do you mean by that? Rin? What's she talking about?" one of the swim team members

"I got contacted by my old coach in Australia," Rin explained "He offered for me to transfer early I'm taking the offer. I leave the day after tomorrow on Saturday."

"Yeah so you can go run off and fuck your ex." I scoffed as I tried, and failed, to hold in the tears "I really don't care anymore. I was obviously just a toy to you. You don't love me."

I walked off with Ash to my dorm, grabbed my acoustic and song book, and drove off to my manor. I walked up to the rooftop pool and dealt with my feelings the only way I knew how; wrote them down and sang to the sky with Ash by my side.
