Autumn
Twilight, taking a walk
In my little garden
I inhale the fragrant air.
Calm of nature
Saturates my being
I am at peace.
A bird sings
Making me smile
I close my eyes.
Memories explode
On the curtain
Of my retina.
Some have vibrant hues
red, orange, yellow, bright blue
Of uplifting emotions.
Others are brown
Muddy black- holes of
Stark, dark negativity.
Like multiple shades
Of the leaves in fall
They all enriched my life.
I try to visualise
But the future
Remains unseen .
The clean grey slate
Is waiting for the
Writings of time.
Only the present is mine
In this moment, I'm here
Sitting on the chair, I breathe.
