Time
If I could turn back time
Would I reach for the stars?
Would I follow my dreams
Or would I follow my heart?
If I could turn back time
Would I regress my regrets
So the problems I've faced
Would be as forgotten pests?
Issues and woes
And pains own embraces
With worry lines etched
On all of my faces
If I could turn back time
Would it matter or not
Would a butterfly's ripple
Change even a jot
Would all of eternity
Collapse in a mass
As I alter events
To scratch out my past
Would the world I know
Cease to exist
Ravaged and torn
As if slammed with a fist
Or is it all fixed
Immutable, designed
A line etched in destiny
No chance to turn aside
Does fate's fickle hand
Hang over my head
Writing my life
Until I am dead
Then turning the leaf
To a page blank and new
Does she turn her attention
From me on to you?
