To the girl I am learning to love
Soft skin and curls pressed against collarbones,
You are
Everything.
I will stay
While you soar.
I could cut myself on your eyeliner.
I hope
You wear it more often.
Dewdrops on glasses and rain rumpled hair,
You are
Everything I dream of.
Velvet stained lips
Grace my sleep.
My fingers
Get lost in your hair.
I hope
You unfurl the rainbow flag hiding at the bottom of your dresser.
Chipped nail polish and snowflakes caught in your hair,
You are
Enough.
Your eyes
Will swallow me whole.
You are smiling.
I hope
You are happy.
