Parker's POV

Addi(only I can call her that)has been so stressed about LSU that she is taking it out on us. She's my best friend, but God I'm about to kill her, before she can kill us.

I am also stressed. Arkansas recruiters are coming to the first game and I need to play my best if I want them to even consider me.

Arriving to morning practice on Monday, freaking six o'clock, Addi is on the bench, waiting for the whole team to arrive. Coach doesn't show up for morning practices, so Addi leads them all.

"Who we wait'n on?" I ask, coming to stand in front of her.

"BJ." He is always late, so I'm not surprised. He shows up a couple minutes later and we get to work. First we have to run. Addi always runs before any of us show up, but I have no idea why.

So we all start running our laps around the field. I get settled into a nice pace, Noah and Ty beside me. But Noah seems to be faltering. I push it away and focus on running. We finish and then start on offense drills. Then defense drills. The whole time Noah seems to be faltering.

He drops the ball, runs into one of linebackers and falls on his ass, and can't throw the ball two feet. One of the reasons he is still stuck as second-string.

Addi chews his ass out and tells him to sit on the sidelines until practice is over. After practice, he hits his locker and lets out a frustrated sigh.

"What the hell is wrong with you? You need to get your head out of your ass and start playing or your not gonna touch the field all season." I snap at him.

"Mind your own business." He says. Once done getting ready, he slams the door as he leaves. What is up his ass?!

~~Addison's POV~~

I catch Noah's arm after he slams the locker door. He turns and once seeing it's me, looks away.

"I need to go get ready for class."

"That's the lamest excuse. Can you explain what the hell was going on at practice today? I'm relying on you to back me up. I can't have you fumbling the ball or passing it off to the other team if I get hurt."

"I'll step it up, okay?" He says.

"You better, or you may lose your position. Snap out of whatever the hell funk you're suddenly in, and be a quarterback." And I turn and start walking.

"Can I ask you something?" He asks, making me turn back around.

"What?"

"What do you do if you like somebody, but you can't tell her because you're scared?" Really? This is all because of a girl? God damn Noah.

"Man up, grow some balls, and ask her out on a goddamn date. And then focus on football. Good luck and good bye Noah." I turn and walk off to class.
